  • Know of any good, cheap hotels in Manhattan?

Don't laugh. Surely there has to be hotels that are both inexpensive and good quality in Manhattan. We are only staying one night, July 10. We want to be near the action so we don't have far to go to our hotel at the end of the day, and be near the action for when we wake up. We already have a hotel lined up with the military. It has four twin beds and a bathroom down the hall. It is only for military members and the price is around $100. But I sure would like a bathroom in the room.

Am I wishing on a star for a cheap, clean, nice hotel room in the thick of things? Do you know any? Thanks.

I don't know of any off hand but I would recommend checking out www.biddingfortravel.com It is a site that has hotel reviews. It also shows what people paid for hotels using priceline.

we stayed at the super 8 north Bergen (just across in NJ) and they have a bus into Manhattan ever 15 minutes (it's only $2 and seem to come ever 5 minutes). we spent one night at the red Roof Inn which was good, no complaints

        http://www.redroof.com/reservations/...?innNumber=605

When we were in the US we stayed at super 8's and Day's Inns, and never had a problem with any of them.
When we were in NYC it was 2 weeks before Christmas, so they were all either booked out or REALLY expensive
The only reason we didn't stay at the RRI longer was that the first night it was around $150, but the next night for the EXACT SAME ROOM was going to be OVER $500 a night!!!!

here's a link to the triprewards hotels (days, super 8, travelodge, wingate, ramada)

        https://tr.triprewards.com/TripRewar...e=000&x=22&y=8

The super 8 times square is only $109, and looks OK

I stayed at The Washington Jefferson Hotel in midtown. I paid $152 a night through Hotwire. It was nice, clean and in the middle of everything. I don't think that you are going to get much cheaper in NYC.
