  • Focusing on Weightloss...

    Yeah, I know you have been wondering what Cellarhound has been up to...

    Well, I have been focusing some of my spare time on losing weight... Rather than posting stuff here...

    So far, it's been 55 lbs in the last two months... Woo Hoo...

    I still got a ways to go... I will get there, but at least we are headed in the right direction...

                Congrats! That's a fantastic result. Keep it going!!

                I'm also shedding weight. Lost 15 (down from 180 to 165 - was 145 when I got married 17 years ago). Strangely, I'm exercising more and eating less. What a concept! Lots of water as my 'snack'. Bowl of cereal and milk for breakfast, yogurt and fruit for lunch, then a sandwich for dinner. Off come the pounds!

                Keep going and let us know what you're doing to shed that weight and put more years on your life!! Best of luck!

                        First off, I have a LOT to lose... Which is why it seems like a lot in a short period of time...

                        But the plan is very simple...

                        1. Calorie Deficit.
                        2. Ultra Low Fat Diet. No alchohol. (Yeah, my drinking buddies haven't seen me in a while...)
                        3. One hour of walking a day. (The route includes climbing 16 flights of stairs intermitantly... I also wear a pedomiter and make sure I am traveling over 10000 steps a day. I do it durring lunch hour at work - because my roomates are less than supportive...)
                        4. No calories after 7:30.
                        5. Weekends off excercise program.
                        6. Vitamin supplements at the end of the day...
                        7. I blog about it daily on with some personal friends who know me and I see daily... It has helped keep me accountable so I don't stray... I felt it is important that it is people who know me... Actually it has helpped motivate them to get in shape as well...

                          That is awesome! I don't know you really, other than reading past posts, but I always get really excited when I read that someone has accomplished something and done something life-changing! Congrats to you!

                              I think the key was when I realized that an excercise program at home would not work for me... I had to do it either after work or before work or durring lunch...

                              Since I work in San Franicisco it was pretty easy, as there are gyms so close to where I work downtown...

                              Work actually has been very supportive, because they know me as well and they know that it needs to happen... They get to see the results first hand...
