  • Pixar Passed On Me, But Was "Impressed" With My Work

I just received an e-mail that Pixar passed on my application for Graphic Artist. Here it is:

    "Dear Brent Parker

Thank you for forwarding your resume and portfolio regarding a position with
Pixar. We had your work reviewed and while everyone was impressed with your work, we are unable to utilize your skill set at this time.
We appreciate your interest in Pixar and wish you every success in the future!

    Take Care,
    The Recruiting Team

    Thanks,
    Pixar Recruiting"

I'm just curious if this is a form letter, and they say that "impressed with your work" bit to everyone, or if someone at Pixar who had seen my work actually wrote that, which I would consider cause for celebration .

Naturally, I'm a bit disappointed, but I'm still glad to know.

In the meantime, I got in contact with a local movie poster designer who used to be really big (the guy who referred me to him called him "the rockstar of illustrators") who said he'll see if he can find me some connections in the business .

Yes, it is a Form Letter.
"And yes, we implore EVERYBODY to follow the park rules. Having off-ride footage is great, but any still photo's or video's taken ON the coasters at SFMM are strictly against the rules. They are there for your (and everybody's) safety." "Six Flags doesn't allow ANY loose articles on their coasters, and they don't allow video taping on their coasters. " BUT, " This is not true. Six Flags does not allow ANY On-Ride video or pictures on the rides. The ONLY way is if you get explicit permission from Park Management." ???

Thanks Tedi and Melon, for the encouragement .

Tac, thanks for answering. Just wondering how you know this .

          EDIT - I think you're right, BTW.

          Thanks,

          Brent
