  • It's sweatshirt weather! Fall!

Okay I know people in Southern California don't get seasons. This is my first fall up in the mountains, so I am kinda' shocked that I am posting this. But I took Pearl, my puppy, out this morning (she woke up at 7am) and oh goodness! I was cold! Last week I was taking her out in shorts, tank top, and flip flops at 7 and it was hot. This morning I took her out and was cold. Last night was cold! Yesterday at work I was seriously thinking "I should have brought a sweatshirt!" It was weird, like as soon as the Tuesday after Labor day hit, suddenly the weather up here dropped and the leaves started to turn orange!

So in honor of the quasi-fall, is anyone feeling bundled up, ready for hot cocoa, blankets, and sweatshirts?

Here in Newport Beach the fog started rolling in during the late afternoon. Contrasted to the heat we had over the weekend it is starting to feel like fall! But I am sure we will have at least one more heat spike -- although not as bad as we already experienced -- before the month is over.

I have heard it said that the mountains in Southern California have an "Alpine climate" meaning obviously that it is very similar to the Alps, which includes the Matterhorn. So I hope you are feeling very Disney up there! LOL

Its so funny you posted this, as I am sitting here at my desk in Pasadena bundled up in a blanket because its nice and breeze outside and apparantly no one has figured out how to turn the AC back up! brrrrrrrr.

        A little piece of heaven

It's been nice and pleasantly cool in the mornings for a few days. A sure sign that cool weather is on the way!

I wish it were cold enough for that type of clothing though. I loooove being snuggled in a sweater or sweatshirt.

I'll look up on her behalf.
I'll look up in the sky and think of you."

Thanks for rubbing it in! But I did have to put on a long sleeved tee shirt with my shorts for this morning's dog walk. Fog came all the way into the inland empire!

I miss seasons, so I love the fall when the temps start dropping and there's a little bit of the crisp feeling in the air.

Problem I have is I have poor circulation. So it's either 100 for me or... 10, which scares me come winter. My mom said they have 10 degree winters here. What is 10 degrees? And why is there such a thing?

Thinking though: September 14th is the day Pearl can come out. I may thaw at Disneyland with her.

It's really cool in the mornings and we had to close our bedroom window last night for the first time since June. Warm in the afternoons, just perfect!

It's supposed to heat back up here this week though. I'm just enjoying the fall-like weather while it lasts.

I love in Florida where it doesn't cool down until November and yet there was the tiniest bit of autumn in the air this morning. I totally embrace it!!

Running Springs. You know where Redlands is? Go north and go up the mountain. We're about 20 miles west of Big Bear, 6 thousand feet elevation.

I know Redlands (just quit a job there because I was commuting 2.5 hours a day) and I know Redlands is not cool right now! Big Bear - yes. Running Springs sounds like a little bitty town. What is there to do there?

Um sit on your butt and waste time on the internet? Knit all your X-mas/Chunnukah gifts? To do anything we go down the hill. Even the knit stores up here are mediocre at best, which sucks. Most of the resturaunts aren't open during the week, there's no super markets, just... like liquor stores. The population is like 5k, but I don't think most of the people live up here full time. It's weird though because like 10 years ago there was no one (!!!!!) up here in the summer. No one lived here full time. Now we have neighbors and it's odd....
