We started out our journey to Disneyland with a three day stop-over in Lost Wages.
We stayed at the Excalibur. While waiting to check in, that Louie guy walked by us and said hi. He is the entertainment there in the evenings. Our room was on the 23rd floor overlooking NY-NY. Great view!
We walked around the strip one day, and visited the M&M store as well as the Coke store. We have pics going back quite a few years with the kids sitting/standing next to the Coke bear. They grow soooo fast!
We had lunch at Planet Hollywood, where Stephen picked a fight with Rocky.
Later that night, back at the Excalibur, the kids "broke the bank" in the Arcade, while I got "broke" at the tables... Thankfully, we had enough cash left over to enjoy the Buffet for dinner. LOL
We enjoyed a special tour of Hoover Dam. As you can see from the pics, we had access to the bottom of the dam. There is a small tunnel which leads to the lower plateau from within the dam. It was too low for me to walk upright. I had to crouch down in order for my hardhat to not hit the top. Katie was able to fully stand up though. Once outside, I was able to straighten up. My back thanked me for that! One pic is looking straight up from the base. The other is looking straight down from the top. That tiny little walkway on the left with the railing is where we entered/exited the dam. We were hoping that no one decided to throw a coin (or worse) down while we were down there looking up! Ouch! What a view!
After our tour we went back to town and had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe.
We also checked out some other resorts. The Palms, the Luxor, Bellaggio, etc... If you watch A&E, you might have seen the show "King of Cars". It is based out of Towbin Dodge. We drove there to see if we could meet "Chop" or the Blue Genie. No such luck that day.
We finished up our trip by blowing some coin at the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World store. What a place!
Then it was south on the 15 towards Disneyland!
