Let's use this thread to get to know each other a little better.

Post one thing about yourself that you think might surprise your fellow MiceChatters to know.

I'll start:

I used to sing in the church choir. Very badly, I have no musical talent whatsoever. Eventually the choir director persuaded my stepfather that my talents would be better utilized by helping pass the collection plates rather than singing the praises of Jeebus.

I can write with both hands perfectly legibly (people say the cursive on my left hand is pretty.) and both feet. And I can write my name in the snow....

(I was afraid I'd break my right hand. I taught myself how to write with my left. I then kinda' thought "well what if I get into an accident and break both arms/hands?" Taught myself how to do that. And the snow thing: my dad took my brother out to teach him and dude, how sexist is that? So I went out and as my dad is teaching my brother I was like "Dad! I did it!" It's one of those stubborn Aries things.)

I was a member of a jr league type organization in high school. Three years of etiquette, parliamentary procedure, dance lessons every Saturday morning. The dress code were these old fashion type sailor dress (pleated skirts and all). It all ended with our senior presentation, where we were announced on stage, had to curtsy, then dance the waltz with our dads. I had to wear a white dress and white gloves. Fun times.

I was a member of a service organization called Rainbow. We wore formal dresses and such to all our meetings. Sometimes we wore hoop dresses...yes..it's totally true...I was a geek....but I can walk in a hoop skirt and not look like a cow!!!!

I also sang in choir when I was a kid and I must have sucked .... I cant sing (my husband will back me up here) Why did anyone ever let me sing? That is one situation where I wish my parents did not do the whole "being supportive thing" uh...

I love pottery and wish I had the equipment to make my own.

I had horses my entrire childhood and used to show them ... yeah I was sweet!

I also sang in a choir, but not for church. I have never liked church. Even when I was about 3 I would beg my parents to not make me go.

I have an advanced diving certification. I really don't like diving off the california coast. It pretty much sucks. I did like the channel islands and the wrecks off of san diego though.

I used to run Varsity 100m and 200m dash in high school, along with playing Varsity Badmintton at the same time. I was a lot thinner then.

When I was around 25, I chased a robber that broke into my mothers garage down the alley, across the street and down that street a bit. Tackled him, grabbed his hands and arms behind his back and held him there until the cops arrived. He ended up doing a year in jail. Garnered me the nickname "Crimefighter" from my friends.

I played basketball in high school and I've been known as "that guy that can jump really high". So yeah, I've got hops.
I also golfed and did high jump but hurt my back.

Seriously, I was a trained opera singer when I was in high school. The ensemble I toured with cut 4 almbums. Now I can't sing my way out of a paper bag.
