In Australia this time every year the magpies are breeding. They mate for life and are pretty social. I have had one come to my front door a couple of times, and I throw him some scraps of meat.
When they're breeding though LOOK OUT!!! You'll be walking, riding a pushbike, minding your own business when all of a sudden BAM!! your hit from behind!!! they don't attack until you are passed them, and they won't attack if they can see your face. you don't hear them, you just feel them, and they have razor sharp, pointy beaks.
.................BUT, it is sooooooo funny to watch!! I have spent many days watching them attack when I was still at school, and they make you laugh so much!!
Mr tassie has been getting attacked every morning on his way to work, and has a puncture wound behind his ear!! you think he'd avoid going passed them LOL LOL .they say to wear a hat with eyes on the back or put a set of eyes on your bike helmet
