  • Holiday Season

    Hello All:

We just finished up booking our yearly Holiday Trip to Disneyland. I wanted to know what traditions you and yours have during this season. Most of us I am sure try and get to a park at least once during the holiday season. If you do attend what is the one thing you do differently during the holiday season.
Christmas time is something we make very special for our kids and we look forward to it almost as much as they do. Lets hear what you and yours look forward to.

    Re: Holiday Season

For our family every Saturday after thanksgiving we start to decorate the house! We put on Christmas movies all day usually the same group of Home Alone, Elf, Jingle All The Way, and Christmas Vacation at the end of the night. We put up the tree, hang stockings, put up the Christmas Village. Then after dinner we make cookies and have hot chocolate.

We always try and get to the park over the holidays. The things we have to do differently here are look for and at Christmas decor etc for future years at our home. Then we have to do Small World, we do not ride this unless it is Christmas or we are very tired and need to rest. Lastly we of course have to see Santa with the kids.

      Re: Holiday Season

In 2004 my 14 month old daughter got Phuemonia (for the 2nd time in 10 months) and was hostpitalized on Christmas Eve. We spent 5 days at the hospital, and on Christmas day in particular we had sveeral families (we didnt know) stop by and drop off presents for our child.

So our tradition for the last two years and continuing this year is to play Santa Clause at that same pediatric ward every Christmas day. We drive down around 8am, and deliver presents to kids who are there. I think its great to start the day by having our kids give to others.

Then of course we go home and they open their gifts and we spend the day with all our families at our home.

We also set aside the Saturday after Thanksgiving to decorate our block. We do this as a neighborhood so we can all help each other out. We string lights across the street from one house to another, its really beautiful.

      A little piece of heaven
