  • Saddle Ranch Chop House?

    http://www.srrestaurants.com/locations-univ.htm
Has anyone ever been here, and can give us some first hand info? We saw it on Rock of Love, and are thinking it might be fun for a kid-free date night, and wanted to know if it is as fun as it looked on TV!
From the website, there are two locations, and we were wondering which location is better, and what approximate price points are, and how packed it is...when would be the best time to go for dinner...

I really like Saddle Ranch... but I mostly go there for the drinks. If you get in good with the bartenders, they'll hook you up with free shots on occasion. The buffalo wings are pretty good, as are the fried mushrooms and the baked potatoes.... That's mostly the fare I go with

I've been to both locations (Sunset Blvd. and Universal City Walk). It pretty much turns into a bar after 9 (a really loud, packed bar). Only a small percentage of the people there go to eat after 9. So if you're going to go, go around 6pm. The food is great and the atmosphere is fun at that time. I had the cedar plack salmon and I loved it. I suggest looking at CitySearch.com for an idea about prices.

I've been there before and it's a pretty fun spot! The portions are large so definitely make sure you're hungry!

We've been to the one at CityWalk quite a few times. The food is good, HUGE portions and comparable, price wise, to most major chain restaurants. The pulled pork sliders are great. The SRAMF cocktail is great, but STRONG, and they serve it to you smoking

Our favorite thing on the menu is the smores, at the CityWalk location you can toast your marshmallows over the firepit outside and then make your smores, it's awesome

Here's a link to the menu, but it doesn't show prices

I've been to the one on city-walk and the food was really great. I had a steak salad... I noticed from your siggy that your family is in the service, and that you live in port hueneme... I think I may know you. I work at the Credit Union that services the Seabees!....but thats off topic.. lol

The Universal City one turns into a immature hoodlum hang out after 9/10pm, Sunset is a wee bit nicer and mature crowd. Loud and obnoxious.

                Both have great food though.
Three-time MVP Larry Bird, noting that Bryant has been the NBA's premier player for years, told Sports Illustrated's Dan Patrick before this week's announcement, "When someone told me the other day that Kobe hadn't won an MVP trophy, it sort of made me feel like I wanted to throw mine away."

I've been to the one on Sunset a few times. It was on Sex and the City when the girls came to LA.

I love the salmon salad. It's basically a half a head of lettuce and a fillet of salmon on top. So simple, so perfect.

                  And the drinks...yum!!

                    Re: Saddle Ranch Chop House?

The Sunset one is a big tourist trap. Reality stars love it too. The food is SO GOOD and portions large. It's usually crowded and noisy. But if you're lucky, someone will fall off the bull! I would say it's more of a hang out w/your friends than date restaurant.

Tried to go to the citywalk one but the wait was too long.

Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                    It was pain
                    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
