  • Geek Burnout

Ok, I'm guilty of this. I love geeking out, I really, really do. But, I have been SO overwhelmed with just even the prospects of the last week:
    • Charlie & the Chocolate Factory
    • Harry Potter
    • Comic-Con
    • Disneyland's 50th
I wanted to do them all, really I did. It's the geek in me. :geek: But, the most I did was Disneyland's 50th, and only hastily grabbed my HP book from Compass Books at midnight on Friday evening. And, I'm only to page 10 in my book.

I think I found a level of burnout for geeks, and this week was it. I'm happy I concentrated on DL the most, and while I feel like I did miss on the other 3 aspects, I'm not overly upset about it.

Did anyone else get this feeling?

      Re: Geek Burnout

I finished Harry Potter yeserday. REALLY REALLY sad. REALLY REALLY good, but sad
"Somebody need me too much; somebody know me too well. Somebody pull me up short, and put me through hell, and give me support for being alive. Make me alive. Make me alive! Make me confused; mock me with praise. Let me be used. Vary my days. But alone is alone, not alive. Somebody crowd me with love, somebody force me to care. Somebody let me come through, I'll always be there as frightened as you, to help us survive being alive."

Well, DisneyPhile, I managed to do Comic Con AND Disneyland... I am dead.

Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!

I'm trying to find someone who accomplished all four. Just so I can admire them.

However, your feat is pretty darn impressive.

            Re: Geek Burnout

I am burnt out and I did only one of the 4. I haven't even purchased my HP book yet, nor have I seen CatCF.

            First, I must sleep.

              Re: Geek Burnout

I won't be able to catch CaTCF until *at least* this weekend.

And I'm not going anywhere till I finish HPatHBP

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was so great. Johnny was an awesome Willy Wonka. Everyone has to go out and see it!!!
