  • Weirdest thing you ever cooked or ate

So tonight, as I digest my Pumpkin Turkey Chili, I am curious, what is the weirdest/most creative/grossest thing you have ever cooked or eaten?
Mine, besides this crazy sounding yummy, is Shake n' Bake...rattlesnake (courtesy of finding one while camping with my Cadette Girl Scout troup, the park ranger killed it for us and too away the head. We got the rest.

Dove, bear, shark (not that strange on the west coast), deer, elk, rabbit, escargot, eel and other weird things.

As long as there's a butter sauce near it, I'll usually at least try weird meats. I had carne cruda as an appetizer last year that tasted and looked a little like dog food.

Fried grasshoppers. They're really good I swear. Taste like french fries.

Escargot is one of my favoritest foods ever.

I am one of those people that is super creative cooking wise and do things like "hey, why not!?" I have a theory everything tastes better with curry.

Oh wait! The best thing is and it sounds weird is you make pork ribs with orange soda. Generic orange soda and pork ribs, boiled and then BBQed with honey BBQ sauce.

              RattleSnake. It was gamey.

When I was in the Philippines, my class kept trying to get me to eat Balut (fermented duck egg - with fetus, feathers and all) but I politely declined.

Turtle soup. My grandpa and his buddy in Michigan caught a big snapping turtle and so they had turtle BBQ and turtle soup. The soup was not too bad as I recall.

I've actually heard that turtle doesn't have one of the best flavors out there.

                            Good morning, son
                            In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                            It was pain
                            Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
