    Re: Sick Kitty

The vet put drops in and shined the bright light in her eye to check for scratches, etc. No scratches. I thought she might have gotten bopped in the eye by one of the others. The white part of her eye is very red (like she has pink eye).

Vet says that the eye is (most likely) not what is causing the fever. If you have something leaving your body, they that is not enough to cause a fever. Like if you have a bladder infection, you don't get a fever. So her eye ooze is probably not the cause of the fever.

Yvonne maybe her eye is scratched.. from the dog or soemthing. that can cause a eye to ooze in animals... and possibly a fever (from infection)

is the fever coming from the eye or something else?? maybe she got a grass seed or something in her eye?? (I know you said she's indoor, but it could have came in on a shoe)

She is no better today. I think I'm going to have to go back for the antibiotics.

Vet seems to be less worried about the eye and more worried about the fever.

    so sorry yvonne

I know this might sound silly.. moms cat had an eye infection, the vet told her to put a used tea bag over her eye a few times a day (I guess there is toxins in the tea).. she would hold it there for about 5 minutes each time

    she told me it worked

i wil be praying for your cat my dear friend

Unknown since she is an indoor only cat along with the other two. Vet is keeping a close eye on her. He is a fantastic vet!! Her fever is like if a human had a temp of 101, yet she is still frisky!
