  • Watch where you're going!

At work, our copy machine broke and we had to make a bunch of copies for a presentation out board president was giving in Tampa tonight, so I took them to the Office Depot down the road to get them done. As I was walking out the store with the last batch... some idiot kid slammed into me with his bike. I went down hard. Papers flew everywhere. A guy that was going in the store at the same time came back out to help me and see if I was ok. The kid on the bike acted like he did nothing wrong at first but then apologized. I was LIVID! I said, "You are damn lucky I'm not bleeding and didn't break anything." He was even riding where there were several signed posted saying no bikes, skateboards, etc. I pointed to one of the signs and said, "Can't you read?!" The guy that helped me laid into the kid too. I didn't have time to do deal with it though as I had to get on the road to Tampa and fight rush hour traffic. But my right palm is sc a little and was swollen for awhile. I'm gonna have a big bruise on my upper right thigh and probably both my knees too. I'll live, but I''m gonna be hurting for awhile.

    Ow.

You need a third beanie pet that you keep on you at all times loaded with lead fishing weights in it, and a leather collar/strap so you can use it as a slapjack for just such an occassion on these whipper-snappers of today.

Good to hear you weren't seriously hurt, and sidewalk rash can suck, esp. on one's hand/s.

You should see the bruise on my right knee. Nasty! And my back is killing me too.

I'm sorry you are hurt and you fell, and the kid is a jerk, but remember we were all jerks in our teens.

Sorry you got hurt. Hopefully the guy learned something from it, but sadly I doubt it...

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I'm pretty sure the kid didn't learn anything from it. Good thing there's karma in this universe to get him back, double!

I've seen some pretty insane bike+ped impacts back when I was in university. It always amazed me that people were not critically injured with the ferocity of some of the collisions! Scary stuff!

He looked around between 18-early 20's.

My back is feeling a little better. The bruise on my leg is going to be sore for at least a few days. But it hasn't slowed me down too much. I put together my new TV stand last night & the audio cabinet today. Salvation Army came and took the old stuff away. My livingroom looks so different now!

Nope. He looked like a young adult to me. I had taken 2 or 3 steps out of the store and I heard him holler to his friend, so I knew he was close. I turned my head to look and... BAM! I had literally no time to react to get out of his way.

I counted this morning and I have 7 bruises around my right knee, 2 bruises on my left knee, the bruise on my upper right thigh, a bruise on my right arm and a bruise by my right shoulder. My back still hurts too. I wish I would've had the time to get that kid's name and number just to scare the hell out of him, but I was in a serious time crunch and had to get my butt to Tampa.

not all of us. I was a teen once, and a well behaved one at that.

please dont stereotype. grouping all teens in the category of misbehaving ****s is as offensive as ap bashing. or fingernails down the chalkboard.

however, I do agree. the teen was disrespectful and should be punished for the injuries. I have an idea on how to prevent it from happening again: cattleprod.
