What are you looking forward to in 2008?

I'm looking forward to hopefully starting my career. Since June I've been unemployed being fresh out of University with my BBA, I've been hunting around for a company to start with. Finally, five positions opened up with one locally, so hopefully, if it all works out, I won't have to relocate. The interview process starts Dec 5 with a test and then the actual interviews begin just before Christmas. If it all works out I could be working at the end of January. What I like about this job is the variety; I'm not going to be locked down to a desk in an office but I'll also be out in the field.

I'm also looking forward to all these upcoming movies:
    • Ironman
    • The Incredible Hulk
    • The Dark Knight
    • The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
    • X-Files 2
    • Star Trek 11
    • James Bond 22
    • Indana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
    • The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
    • WALL-E
    • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
    • Fanboys
    • The Spiderwick Chronicles
    • Horton Hears a Who
    • 10,000 BC
    • Get Smart
    • I was also looking forward to Angels and Demons, but because of the strike, it got pushed to Spring 2009.

I am getting laid off next year (well I guess I technically already got laid off, my last day is just a bit far off right now). I am so excited as I will have the opportunity to be a stay at home Mommy and housewife for a while. I am looking forward to that more than anything.

Oh and there is a possibility hubby may speak at a conference in Orlando in June so there may be a short WDW trip next year too!

            A little piece of heaven

Really don't have any long-term vacation plans for next year. It will be a Disney-Free year (except for Disneyland) it's looking like so we can save up for Europe in 2009.

We are thinking of taking a trip to Pennsylvania (Hersheypark, Knoebels), Washington DC and Virginia (Busch Gardens) and I'm sure we will make our way back up to the NorCal parks at some point next year.

For the 4 of us to do a 7 or 8 day trip to PA/DC/Viriginia would still be about 1/2 what it would cost for WDW.

But other than that, it will likely be a pretty light year for us travel-wise.

Other than that, we are both set in our jobs. I am however looking at the Orlando job-market, so you never really know what could happen.

I am looking forward to seeing ALL of the movies listed by the OP! I am also looking forward to all of my 2008 Disneyland experiences, the people I will meet, maybe even making a new friend or two.

A new niece in January, some exciting transitions at my husband's job that are going to be really good for us, a couple of weddings on the horizon, my dad in remission, a trip to England to meet the rest of my husband's family. That's the short list.

                                    A slow year!

The rest of them have been moving too fast!

CCPPNS's 2008 conference down in Orange County- I helped plan the thing, then my preschool went capoot (!). But I feel like I still need to go there and learn because right now I am at a position where I am the most educated at work and that scares me.

Something I'm not looking forward to: Pearl (the puppy in my avatar) is going to be 18 months this time next year and will probably be back at the Guide Dog center training to be a big seeing eye dog. Kinda' sad, but she'll have a job and such. Plus side: the giant yellow lump won't be snoring next to me this time next year.
