  • Are you a fan of Resident Evil?

The 2002 remake was solid and scary. The original RE2 is the best one in my opinion, if you take into account the story. But after RE4, the franchise ended up rather convuluted. Now they have this "vampire lady" and an obese merchant, named the Duke, for RE8.

Has Capcom lost their minds, or something?

    Regards, from Green Shield.

Haven't tried that game. Is that a good start for a newbie like me when it comes to gaming?

Try the HD version of the 2002 remake. It's awesome.

However, RE8 (due for release on 7 May) looks terminally stupid. I've tried to tell people for years on other forums, that Capcom has been wrecking the series with how money hungry they are. Few people ever listen to me.

I just don't get how anyone can say this RE8 is a real RE game, when it's not really indicative of one.

They have a free demo that will last for 30 mins so use your time wisely. I'm not just sure if it's available on Xbox.

I did try playing it before and I suggest you should give it a try. It would make you fee scared and hopeless.

Okay, I will give it a try. I also heard, many are saying that RE8 is the much awaited game. Let me know your experience upon playing it, just few days to go before the release date.

I played the two demos, and while I cannot say it's an unenjoyable horror game, it's not really like a true RE game. Well, at least if you understand the lore of the franchise going off from when the series started way back in 1996.

Sure. They may explain that another virus was responsible for the vampire cult and the things that look like werewolves, being where they've ended up. But even still. The whole franchise has just gone off the rails with how ridiculous some of these aspects are.

The story has not made any sense for many years now, in fact. Basically, you have to play the games starting at the prequel (RE0), then go up to Code: Veronica. Treat RE4 to 6 as a trilogy, with some associated spin off titles being linked to these games. Then treat RE7, 8 and maybe soon to be RE9, as a different series. Because calling it RE, after all the weirdness that Capcom has involved since RE4, is not a cool thing to do. It hardly even feels like it ought to be referred to as RE anymore. Things have gotten to be so different, and so, there's a lot of stuff that just does not make any sense nowadays. Like that fat vendor who sells you items, who is called Duke. How the hell does he move his stock from room to room anyway?

Hi there! I already tried it and its awesome. At first, its frustrating as I always lose control but, eventually I get used to it. And damn its exciting!

I completed RE8 a few weeks ago. It's hilarious, but bad. In fact, you can tell they're just recycling assets for each new garbage game that they make. Plus, the story is absolutely stupid, considering a type of mould can somehow transform people into vampires and machines. It's really convuluted as well. If you've followed the franchise for over 20 years, you will know what I mean when I say the plot is nonsensical nowadays.

                  It's sad, man.

That's why its about time to let it go and give a try to new games. I can suggest games if you like but, what kind of game do you prefer?

I like mostly survival horror, but I like wrestling and martial arts as well.
