  • Band Of The Coldstream Guards

Just got back to work, after being sick with the flu all week. Last Sunday, I had the opportunity to see the Band of the Coldstream Guards and pipes and drums of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards at the Orange County Performing Arts Center and i have to say that they were absolutely awesome. Now I want to go visit England and Scotland. Anyone else from Micechat get a chance to see them perform as well??

I didn't see them this time, but in years past when my dad was still alive we used to go a couple times a year to see the different bands and Bagpipe groups that would come over and perform. They are awesome and there is nothing more stirring than a mass grouping of band and pipes playing "Scotland The Brave" and all the Scotts in the audience standing and cheering and stomping their feet. It gives you chills and goosebumps. I heard from a friend who did go to see them and he also said it was pretty awesome.

      They were here???!!!

Rats, I didn't know about it.

I'm Lost Boy's sister and I well remember our trips with Dad to see the bagpipe bands. Loved it so much. After he passed away it was hard for me to listen to bagpipe music without tearing up.

Wemdygirl, please keep seeing the pipebands, cuz it will keep lit in your heart, all of those fond memories that you, your brother and especially your dad enjoyed together. Don't let it diminish. I hope in time you can start enjoying them again.

When they played Amazing Grace and also a tribute to our armed forces and America the Beautiful, all I can say is that my wife and I really teared up.

I happened to see their add in the Register Newspaper in the entertainment section just by accident and I was on top of it immediately.
