  • Sick days - what do you do to pass the time?

I contracted a lovely cold this week, missed work partial day yesterday and all day today. Head's stuffy, head hurts, teeth hurt. Good times.

Now, I'm bored. I am NOT a good be sick at home person, I bore easily. There's only so much t.v., computer and nap time I can take. I can't focus on reading because it hurts my eyes too much.

What do you do to pass the time when you're home illin'?

Read, sleep and watch tv, I'm a big help huh! Actually, my sick days don't vary from regular days, I still deal with the heathens, I just usually let the cleaning slide.

How about trying crossword puzzles or sudoku?

the only time I call in is when I get migraines. I take my migraine meds and I'm knocked out for a good 4 hours.

When the migraine subsides enough to where I can handle the light. I will knit, read, go on the computer, watch movies....but I'm usually still woozy from the meds and sleeping on and off.

If I'm sick I usually sleep....yeah, i like to sleep.

I've been sick for the past week and a half. And, I was supposed to start a new job on Monday so that got postponed to next week. This was a nasty cold bug. The longest and strongest I've had in a long long time. I even had to go see the Dr. a couple of times. Anyway I was bed ridden for most of last week, but I did watch a bunch of movies. I got caught up on some Disney movies I haven't seen yet. I also like to watch movies like Star Wars, Indiana jones and The Goonies as well as others (watched The Goonies the other night). I'm feeling better today so hopefully this bug will be out of my system soon.

I'll read, or if I can't concentrate enough to read then I'll put on a "comfort" movie and sleep.

I try to sleep as much as I can - I'm never sick for more than a day or two - but, I get stiff and achy - I try to get up and read or watch a movie. I've even had my hubby take me out for a short drive if I start to go stir crazy.

My 6 year old was sick today (cough and stuffy nose), so I kept him home from school. I spent the day trying to entertain him - ugh!

Re: Sick days - what do you do to pass the time?

I clean, because, if I'm going to be home, I need to have something to show for it. And if I'm really sick, I'll get tired of it really quickly.

Or, if I can't sleep, I'll do something metaphysical. Meditate, most likely. Nothing like trying to clear your head when your head isn't clear.

Then I feel I've accomplished something.

Hang in there. Hit the soup and tea.

                    Peace,

I did manage to dust the living room, and decorate for Easter (I swear it just seems so wrong to do that this early in March!). But I think bed is calling my name here soon.

Either look at the ceiling and ponder the wonders of the universe ... or put on my headphones and listen to music while playing Pokemon Trozei on my Nintendo DS.

It takes a lot to put me out of commission, so I'm usually flat on my back and miserable on the rare occasions I do get sick. I usually just spend the day sleeping, maybe a little TV and even catching up on minor household chores if I'm up to it.

I've been sick also, but I've been going to work. It's really slow so mostly I just sit at my desk anyway and they are allowing people time off throughout the day. So, today when I felt really bad I came home. My head has felt really clear for the last hour. I'm hoping it's gone or on it's way out. *fingers crossed*

during the weekend when I was sick I started and finished the book "the other boylen girl".
