  • NHL 2006 Season

Well based on the response from another NHL thread, it seems their is quite a few NHL fans out their in the Mice Chat community. With the 2006 season just around the corner and the frenzied free agency currently occurring, I thought it might be interesting to see your picks on who you think or want to win the highly coveted Stanley Cup. Also, post which two teams will be playing in the Stanley Cup Finals.

    MY PICKS:
Stanley Cup Winner: Anaheim Mighty Ducks- with the recent signing of Scott Neidermayer and the bringing in of an offensive minded coach (Carlye), coupled with a strong goaltender in Giguere and a decent offense (Federov, Sykora, etc) I think they have good potential

Stanley Cup Matchup: Mighty Ducks vs. New Jersey Devils- a rematch of 2003

    Go AVS!!!!

OMG, did you hear the Avs traded Foote to the Leafs?

And guess who the Kings got!!!!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Oh bother, one of my favorite teams finally drops Kariya and another one picks him up.

          Le sigh....

              Re: NHL 2006 Season

I love watching NHL hockey. Now, if it were only broadcast on HD, then I could go buy the HD TV and teh satelite, and the etc., and I could watch it as if I were there.

Meantime, I have a buddy with an extra King season seat, and I'm in his rotation. The 120-mile RT (including the scenic underground of the Red Line) is worth it.

but I'm pretty sure the avs will make the playoffs despite the losses they've thus far suffered this offseason. Today they signed Tanguay and Kurt Saur and yesterday they signed turgeon and brisbois to top their already stellar offense. So no worries

                      Re: NHL 2006 Season

Footer went to Columbus, at least that is what Nathan told me last night.

Foote & Forsberg were free agents.

Damn salary cap. At least we kept Hejduk & Tanguay. They are beautiful to watch on the ice.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

                          Re: NHL 2006 Season

I've been to only one game, as my buddy's father gave up his season ticket (grumpy old man with his, "I ain't buying no season tickets after that lock-out" crap) and now he takes up many of my buddy's extra tickets. And I went to that game with the grumpy old man!

Season is going pretty well, with the Kings hovering around first place. I'm not happy with Roenick's and Luc's remarks about playing time, but, hey, guys, YOU'RE OLD!! Team's doing well without you taking up ice time.

                              Whaaa? They're playing this year?
You can think I'm wrong, but that's no reason to quit thinking.
