  • What is Your Heritage?

My heritage is Spanish/Mexican on my Dad's side. However, my paternal Grandpa, who has the Spanish genes, can trace our ancestry to Jewish roots.....which is quite interesting, I think. My lastname is NOT linked up to Mexico at all, but is a Spanish last name - and Italian as well. My paternal Grandmother comes from the Mayan Indians....my paternal Grandparents were both born in the United States.......my Great-Grandparents came over on sponsorships....and eventually became citizens

My Mom's side is German & English.....both of my Grandparents. My maternal Great Grandparents were born in the US.

We're just one big MELTING POT here on MC - so what is YOUR heritage?

Why did I know that you were going to ask that question.

My dad always said that he was Pennsylvania Dutch. I am not really sure what that is exactly. My mother's father was Polish, and her mom was German.

My fathers side of the family, thanks to some detailed research by a cousin, I can trace back to Ireland. And I recently found out that even on my mothers side, there is a line that goes back to Ireland, just a different part of the island. I don't remember what else is mixed in. Probably some Scottish too somewhere back there.

I googled Pennsylvania Dutch and it is German. So I guess, I am more German than anything else.

                Good morning, son
                In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                It was pain
                Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

LOL! I know I'm Irish, German, Polish - maybe something else too. Any red hair also would come out of a box (haven't done that in over a year).
