  • Horizontal and Vertical.

I just wanted to say thanks for everyone for their support over what has been an extremely difficult week here; after learning that my mom (age 91) had passed last Monday morning, I wound up in the hospital myself (on something nonrelated) that afternoon, and spent that night and the following three days in the ICU, which I sort of recommend against.

Again, thanks for the good wishes, everyone, we appreciate it. To have known mom was to love her.

My deepest sympathies on losing your mom. [[hug]] My mom is 93. You can never prepare, but you know it will be coming.

        Re: Horizontal and Vertical.

And just as none of us in the family could imagine one without the other, Dad passed away Tuesday afternoon.

He was 89, and one of the most unintentionally funny people I have ever known. With both of them gone, it is truly a passing of an era, a new stage in life, and I guess it means I'm an orphan now!

Hopefully, we'll get to go back east for this one.

I'm so sorry Wotan to welcome you to the Orpan club. You are very fortunate that you had your parents in your life so long! They are holding hands and walking in a place we will not visit for a while....hopefully!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

Wotan, I'm so sorry to hear of your losses. Isn't amazing how people can be so connected to each other, that they pass in such quick succession? They must have had a very special relationship.

Your Dad reminds me of how true the term "broken heart" means.
I've seen it with my Grandparents and it's amazing how love works.
