  • A request for opinions and thoughts about Al Lutz's Wikipedia page

Hi folks, I have a request.

There is a dispute over at Wikipedia regarding some information that is included in Al Lutz's Wikipedia page.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Lutz

In particular, it is this paragraph...

    Tom Sawyer Island

On October 3, 2006, Al Lutz published a column revealing plans within Walt Disney Pictures in Burbank to transform Disneyland's Tom Sawyer Island into a playground area based on Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which made its debut in the park as a ride in 1967[6]. The story was picked up quickly by national media, such as the Los Angeles Times[7], which has frequently turned to Lutz as a source for Disneyland related news, and the local Orange County Register[8] The story prompted the Times editorial board to plead in their opinion section to keep the island's original theme of a playground based on the classic American literary work The Adventures of Tom Sawyer [9]. On January 26th, 2007 Disney did announce "Pirate's Lair at Tom Sawyer Island." which opened on May 25th, 2007. [10]

If you could take a few moments and add your thoughts about whether this paragraph should remain, be changed, or just removed, it would be helpful.

You can go to this link to add your comments.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...edit&section=9

Just add your comments at the bottom, and then "Save Page".

Thanks in advance, and please keep it civil and polite.

    Let me get this straight...

It's wikipedia...you can add anything you want.

You can say that Al invented peanut butter, was the first man to walk on the moon, knows who really shot JFK, is the record holder for most hot dogs eaten in 2 minutes or something, and you're worried about this paragraph?
    What an idiot....

Yeah, I do that Twitter thing.

But there is an Edit war going on, with some folks deleting it, and others replacing it as soon as it is deleted. It is now in Dispute Resolution at Wikipedia, and the addition of other folks thoughts and ideas will be helpful to come up with a final solution.

I am pretty sure, based on the person's IP address location, and how they write, I know exactly who is doing the removal, and he has had a LONG term personal grudge with Al Lutz. But that is just a sidelight, what is important is what you think (whichever way) and add your thoughts to the Talk/Discussion Page.

      Thanks in Advance.

When you are done with that, please have them restore the MiceChat entry as well. Some less than friendly folks at another Disney board had us deleted.
