    S. Korean man dies after 50 hours of computer games

SEOUL (Reuters) - A South Korean man who played computer games for 50 hours almost non-stop died of heart failure minutes after finishing his mammoth session in an Internet cafe, authorities said Tuesday.

The 28-year-old man, identified only by his family name Lee, had been playing on-line battle simulation games at the cybercafe in the southeastern city of Taegu, police said.

Lee had planted himself in front of a computer monitor to play on-line games on Aug. 3. He only left the spot over the next three days to go to the toilet and take brief naps on a makeshift bed, they said.

"We presume the cause of death was heart failure stemming from exhaustion," a Taegu provincial police official said by telephone.

Lee had recently quit his job to spend more time playing games, the daily JoongAng Ilbo reported after interviewing former work colleagues and staff at the Internet cafe.

After he failed to return home, Lee's mother asked his former colleagues to find him. When they reached the cafe, Lee said he would finish the game and then go home, the paper reported.

He died a few minutes later, it said.
NOW WALK AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER!
    ...it's been a long time.

    Addicting, aren't they?

If you replaced "computer games" with "alcohol", someone would have performed an intervetion and gotten him help.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

I think the story I read said he was fired from his job for missing too much work, due to video game playing. What kind of crazy place allows a person to hang out there for 50 hours? (and don't say Disneyland! )

Many studies have shown playing video games does a great deal to improve hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. There are micro-surgeons now that claim playing video games as youths helped them hone their skills as micro-surgeons.

As with anything, moderation is important.

              No BS.

It was also proven that drivers that played videogames had better reflexes and were all around better drivers since they tend to watch everything around them rather than just the car in front of them.

Disney Fanatic Dies After Drinking for 50 Hours Straight While Surfing Popular Message Board Site

Matilda Curmudgeon, aka "DisneyGeek1079485312", stumbled upon MiceChat last weekend. Her family said she was instantly addicted once viewing photos of "meets" and became obsessed with downing large amounts of alcohol so she could more "actively" participate in what is called the "Drunken MiceChatters Alliance".

After 50 hours of drinking, she was found laying facedown on her keyboard, covered in glitter, uttering, "I hope the People Mover is coming back.", right before she expired.

She has left behind a note, saying that she wishes to have her ashes scattered inside the Haunted Mansion, after having them toted in an urn placed in a large stroller, wishing for the driver to crack at least 50 kneecaps on the way to New Orleans Square.

                        He was playing STARCRAFT?

So he wasn't selling gold to people in Azeroth on a server on World of Warcraft?
Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!
