  • Question about Main Entrance Pass and WDW

I'm a DLR CM, and I'm going on a trip to WDW in February.

I know the Main Entrance Pass works there. But on some of the days during my trip, I will be visiting the parks alone. Does my Cast ID work there? I would rather not have to waste my Main Entrance Pass uses on just myself.

Your cast id does not work for admission to any parks other then DCA and DL. However when using your Maingate Pass outside of the Disneyland Resort, the uses do not go against the allotted amount you are given per year.

    Have Fun!

Yeah...you get 16 here at Disneyland and 16 in Orlando (Blue Pass). We went a couple years ago to WDW and it was awesome to just be able to sign ourselves in. You do have to be careful regarding discounts though..they aren't the same as here at DLR. Since we went at Thanksgiving time, we got the 40% Merchandise Discount, but we couldn't get much of a food discount. Have fun!

Also, does a sign-in into one of the parks at WDW work for all of the parks? Like, could I sign myself into Epcot and then perhaps go to Hollywood Studios later in the day with the same ticket (like how it works at the DLR)? Or would that be considered two uses?

Actually, WDW Main Gate Passes only get 12 sign-ins for WDW Parks. :I

The sign-ins only affect your home park, so DLR gets 16 for the DLR and WDW gets 12 for WDW. They are still scanned and used at the other Resort, however they don't count against your allotment. You can still park hop.

Yes, make sure you know what your food discounts are since they are VERY different then back home at the DLR. There's a good PDF in the TEAM Discounts section under... Restaurants I think. Also, there are a LOT of discounts that are "Florida-Site" only, which means that you aren't eligible for them... like the current free admission to the Water Parks and discounts at the mini golf courses or Cirque du Soleil.

Sorry, just to clarify: By using my DLR blue pass at WDW, I am not contributing to my 16 use max at the DLR? Does that mean I technically have a max of 12 uses at WDW, or unlimited?

Re: Question about Main Entrance Pass and WDW

Your sign-ins only affect your home Resort. So DLR Cast Members have 16 sign-ins to the DLR and unlimited to WDW/DLPR/HKDR and vice versa.

Re: Question about Main Entrance Pass and WDW

Rumor has it (though this time it would make sense) that sign-ins will affect BOTH Resorts starting next year since both Resorts went to plastic-card MGPs instead of Disneyland Resort being on plastic and Walt Disney World being on paper.

Who knows though. When I transferred over here they considered both the sign-ins that I did at the DLR when I worked there and the sign-ins that I did while I've been working at WDW to determine how many sign-ins I have left for the year.

Hmm, thanks for the heads up.

Also, when do sign-ins reset? Does everybody get a fresh pass in January, or do you get 16 sign-ins up to a year from your hire date?

That's odd. When I transferred, they just gave me a new MEP and reset the usage to zero. None of my admits at DLR for 2009 up to that point were counted....

Meh, I've come to the point where I've realised there's no rhyme or reason to Company Policy on this side of the country at times, lol.
