  • Would this method work to get a friend a discounted AP?

So my co-worker buddy said this would work, but I don't really believe it would. Perhaps I heard her wrong, but here's the situation:

According to my co-worker, we can sign in a friend with our Blue Main pass... and then that friend can use that ticket as $72 toward the price of an Annual Pass, similar to how a normal-priced ticket can be exchanged later in the day toward the price of an AP.

Is this true? Has anyone tried this before? It doesn't make sense for it to be valid.

That is not true. A sign-in has no cash value, so it cannot be upgraded.

How about if we sign in a friend on their Birthday, can they then use their Birthday certificate for a gift card? I'm guessing no on this also, but curious just the same.
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

Because a sign-in doesn't count as a paid multi-day admission. Remember, even paid single-day admission tickets don't count towards you being able to get an alternate gift instead of the one-day, one-park ticket.

There are already too many people in the Parks.

Also, the real deal on one-day tickets is the price of a one-day Park Hopper.

Stop trying to cheat the system and maybe you won't be risking your job.

I believe that if your friend presents proof of birth date at the ticket booth and gets the free birthday admission, that can be upgraded to an Annual Pass, but that does not subsequently make the friend eligible for the Birthday Fun Card. If you have a Costco membership, my recommendation would be to purchase a voucher redeemable for a Deluxe Annual Pass and a $50 gift card. Your friend would then be eligible for the Birthday Fun Card, and that, along with the $50 gift card, can be applied towards upgrading to a Premium Pass if desired.

The offer is for free admission on one's birthday, or if one has already purchased a multi-day pass used for entry on one's birthday, some form of compensation, such as the Birthday Fun Card, the Birthday Fastpass, or a One Day One Park admission expiring one year from the date of issue. If a Passholder is blocked out on his or her birthday, he or she can get a merchandise gift card equal in value to the price difference between a blockout day pass and a One Day One Park pass, and get the blockout day pass for free. All forms of complementary admission are ineligible for the special compensation.

if you're going to do anything for your birthday, I hope its in Nov or Dec. because that promotion is ending this year and it doesn't look like they will be doing it next year.
