  • Hiring for seasonal?

Does anyone know if disneyland is hiring for seasonal?
I did an online application, and the lady told me when i called before i did the application that they would start looking at applications in November.

    So here are my questions
    1. Is disneyland actually hiring for seasonal?
    2. Would it be wise to call the employment office place and ask about the status of my application and see if they will schedule an interview? or is that too pushy?

    Thanks Guys

    Re: Hiring for seasonal?

THEY ALWAYS hire seasonal. I was hired in seasonal even though I wanted full time(which I've herd is really hard to get). Seasonal isn't as great as it sounds, you get the left over shifts and you don't get any benefits at all, except getting into the park for free(just yourself). They would actually like it better if you were seasonal, it'll cost them less money. You would only work Thanksgiving week, Most of December, Spring Break, and all of Summer. The time in between, you can't work.

I would definitely encourage you to call the office on your status, thats what I did, until I got the job, they are more than willing to help. I even sent my interviewer a thank you letter. Good luck to you!

Actually I'm not full time yet. After seasonal, it's CR(Casual Regular) which is the same as part time. Depending on where you work and what park you're at, is how you can get converted. In DCA, Fulltime is VERY sparse and is usually just the people who've been there for YEARS, and don't want to move up. I've herd that in Disneyland, they have a good amount. It's mostly like winning the lottery. Just keep your nose clean and be a good CM and you'll get it! Wishing you luck! Any news?

not yet. i thought about going to an audition today up in la for character performers .. but im still iffy about it to be honest. i know a lot of girls would like die and kill to have that job ... and yes i absolutely love performing have performed my whole life and would love the chance to see a little kids face light up when they meet a character i also know disney is really strict and picky about who they choose and honestly i dont think i look like any of the face characters, although i have been told different

but since im like extremly sick that decision of going was made for me since i didnt want to put other auditioners in the risk of getting sick too.

i plan on calling them tomorrow!

It all really depends on the Line of Business. For example, unless things have dramatically change since I left, Parks Food & Beverage hands out Full Time like candy at both DL and DCA. There are also almost always opportunities to go FT in things like Custodial and whatnot.

You want difficulty going FT? Come out to WDW - FT is really hard to get here unless you're willing to work Housekeeping or something.

                Re: Hiring for seasonal?

I finished my Onlina Application back in September and i'm still waiting for a call. I'm planning to go to the Casting Center and check on my online application.

I don't know what the status is on Attractions but it looks like theres a long waitlist for that.

                  Re: Hiring for seasonal?

yeah i never got a call back either and when i called them to see if they could check the status of my application the guy gave me some long speech on how many people would love to work at disneyland and that they have a lot of people on a list and if something comes up they would call people based upon where they are on this list they have or whatever. i was pretty irritated when i got off the phone with him

i even had applied for something that they were looking for people for and i had previous experience in that area too ...

                    Re: Hiring for seasonal?

To be completely honest, I think attractions is pretty overstaffed as it is. At least in TL attractions there are not a lot of hours to go around. We have hired a fair amount of newbies the past few weeks and I hope we dont hire many more. Sorry but I want my hours
