  • Application Question(:

So even though this board is pretty much not that active I thought of giving it a shot. So I turn 17 in february and want to apply to work for disneyland during the summer and my senior year, however I heard it takes a while to be hired so I was wondering when you think I should start applying to work there...Thanks (:

I don't think the real answer to this question exists. Seems getting hired at Disney is a matter of luck & timing. It took my wife 6 months to get hired, It took my kids 3 days. Go figure.

I also applied when the new site went up( I want to say September 1st) and my hire date was 11/05/11.

I would say call the casting center and ask. Tell them your situation, and apply a couple weeks earlier then what they say. Why you may ask. I'm sure you are not the only 17 yo in CA that wants to work for Disney over the summer Just mention school at your interview and you should be all set.

          Good luck

And by the way, As long as I'm working at Disneyland this part of the board will get responses. At least a lot more then in the past

At this time, DLR is not hiring minors. You are better off spending the summer and your senior year working somewhere else and building your work experience. After you graduate next year, you'll be a stronger candidate to work at DLR.

Global- I heard they still hired 17 years olds for their senior year...I have always wanted to work and once I graduate and head off to college I am hoping to intern and be on the east coast for the next 10 years.

Can DLR hire a minor that is in his/her senior year? Yes.
Will DLR hire a minor that is in his/her senior year? Not at this time.

The truth is the current labor pool screws the 17 to 22 year old candidate with little to no work experience. You are better off getting a job at Knott's now, get a year's worth of work experience, and then try to hire into to DLR after your senior year.

                  Just my two cents.
