  • Best Question While Working

i know most of us current and former cast members have all been asked stupid, but yet great questions. so what is the best question you have been asked while working??

i'll start us off: I was working at the store Tropical Imports(now its the fruit cart) in adventureland and the fireworks were going off and so i was standing there watching them. I had a guest come up to me and asked me "where are the fireworks?" I looked at him and i processed the question and then i said and did the two finger point to the sky. and then he was like oh ok....to this day i still laugh about it....how could someone not know where fireworks are usually at.....

Guests always ask .... "Are you a Ghost?" ...and my fave is.."Wow, how many miles do you put on this?"..pointing at the moving walkways!!

P.S..this is from working the Haunted Mansion

While wearing the old gaudy, bright blue Disney Store cardigan with Disney pins and a nametag on it, folding tees into size stacks and merchandising a fixture.

Guest: Hey. Do you work here?

Me: (Blinks. Looks Down. Blinks again.) Umm, I sure hope so. What can I help you with?

It may not read that amusing, though it always makes me laugh because it happened at least every other day.

        Where's the Magic Mountain?

        I swear.
I usually figured out they meant SPACE Mountain, but occasionally I'd give them directions up the 5.

I often worked in the stockroom, which includes answering calls from FOH CMs looking for items not on-stage. My favorite situation went as follows:

Me: *store name* Stock, this is invader pearl.

CM: Hi, my name is *whatever her name was* at *store name*. I have a guest here that is staying at the Grand Californian Hotel and wants to return some merchandise.

Me: Ooookay... did you run it by a lead?

CM: Yes, I just wanted to know if it was okay to credit their hotel charge card.

Me: Um, I guess. I don't see a problem with it. You should call the hotel and make sure there's nothing out of the ordinary that you have to do.

          CM: Isn't this the hotel?

Me: No, you called the stockroom.

I also once got a call for a mug with the "Disney characters" on it. Okay, which one? "It has Disney characters on it." After a few more roundabouts like that, I finally figured out which mug it was. I should tell the CM this story, now that I think about it. He might have a laugh.

Life is Like a Parking Lot, Lots of Idiots!

In the Original D-Land Parking Lot:

Q: Where's the boat that takes you to the Main Entrance?
A: What are you talking about??? (It took me over a week to find out that there was a boat system in FLORIDA. Who knew?)

While standing not one hundred feet from the main gate in what was known as O-zone:
                          Q: Where is the entrance?
                          A: Behind me
                          Q: Oh, are you sure?
                          A: You're kidding right?

In front of Mr. Lincoln in what can best be described as a giant 1920's carpet costume:
                          Q: Do you work here?
                          A: Yes
Q: So why are you wearing that outfit?
A (not actually said): Gee thanks!

                          The constant questions:
Q: Where does the parade run?
Q: Where's the best place to see the fireworks?
Q: What time is the INSERT TIME HERE Parade/Fireworks?
Q: Can you watch my child for me?
                          Q: Who plays Mr. Lincoln?
Q: Will the train take you to the parking lot?
Q: Is this the parking lot tram? (after saying it a million times)

A (not actually said): And they wonder why I'm always hung over??

ODV- Guest: "Come on my friend can you lower the price on a bucket of popcorn?"
Me: "I wrote $5.00 on a napkin and put it on the ground and said, "IS that low enough for you."
Guest: He laughed and ended up paying the $5.00. I ended up giving him a courtesy cup for his kids filled with popcorn..

I was cleaning up the front dining area of R2P2 (right in front of the doors - had my back to the front entrance).

Guest: Is there somewhere around here I can get a soda?
Me: (stunned silence) ... Well, you could... try this restaurant here... (pointing behind me)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

As a backstage CM (Disneyland Bakery), I did not go into the Park much except to troubleshoot a problem for bakery goods at one of the restaurants. But, I do remember going to the Main Street Area Office once (above City Hall), when a guest asked me where the SF & DL RR (stands for the Santa Fe and Disneyland Railroad) and I was walking near the Magic Shop at the time (near Lincoln on Main Street). I did not even know what they were refering to at the time since they were using the letters. So I had to look at the Park's map and had them point to where they wanted to go. At that point, I told them to turn around to see the Main Street RR Station.
