Cast members, how did you get a job their? I am a teenager, and like some of you said it was a dream to work their since you were kids, same with me. So I want to know for when I'm older, how to say get an application or how to apply for a job as CM. I live in canada, so I want to take a year off and work their, maybe move down their... But say if I took a year off and came down what is the likleyness of me getting a job? How do I do it? Can you help me?

I know I have to get dual citenzship. I do have a work permit so yeah :S as far as I know work permits aren't needed anymore...

My understanding is, to work any job in the US, that you would need some type of authorizing paperwork. Dual citizen should not be required but would make things easier since, as an American citizen, you would then be authorized to work any job in the US which you could get hired for.

Have you though about coming to college here? That ~may~ make it easier. Post here if you would like me to ask some of my friends who are now here on student visas and working.

Beyond all the visas and passports, etc. etc. hooking up a job with the Mouse was fairly easy. They look for very clean cut very Disneyesque people to be their cast members. Well spoken, well groomed, and with an eagerness. In the interviews, you'll be asked a lot of questions to try to place you in the park depending on your strengths, so be clear in your mind as to where you'd like to work (ie: attractions, merch., guest relations, etc.), and focus your answers accordingly. Well I want to go to acting school, so some good ones would be in the USA of course. Now tink, any advice is welcomed. I really want to do stuff with guests, if I can acting such as fantasmic etc. But like just being a character, or person that works with guests would be great. I really like the acting side though, but I also want to be able to travel around the park, unlike a ride operator etc.

you might work for Epcot at Walt Disney World or at Disneyland Paris .

at Epcot you can apply for the Canadian Pavillion and then work for a year .

at Disneyland Paris you can work as an Attraction Host or anything you want . I have known a lot of people from Quebec they have worked at Disneyland Paris more than a year .

During your Stay you can visit a lots of European Theme Parks like Port Aventura and Parc Asterix or Alton Towers .

Aww, good luck with your acting! As far as the acting in the park is concerned, you would do well with auditioning to be a face character... auditions are usually in the spring. They seem to have the most contact with the guests while still having to maintain a character. Otherwise, I'd say merchandise people have the most contact with the guests generally and get to travel all over the park a lot. Guest relations CMs have limited contact with them on a more personal level until they've got better seniority.

Yes, see I want to be able to work there during all hours of day etc. and fantasmic (if it's still running) would be fun, yet you just come at a certain time do shows, go home... No real guest mingling and going behind the scenes alot..

I went to a job fair at the Disneyland Hotel. When I applied there were no openings for the position I applied for.... four months later I got a call.....position open,still interested? YES.....four years later, still here.

Evans-500... I'm a Canadian as well, hoping to get a job in the park next summer, for maybe 3-4 months. My understanding is that I need a Q-Visa, which is a work permit allowing me UPTO 18 months in the USA. Also, from what I've read, Disneyland requires on-the-spot interviews vs. phone interviews. Re-locating is also my responsibility. I do not believe that Disneyland will sponsor your Visa. You'll also need to prove to the US Consulate before you leave that any living expenses accrued in Canada while you are gone (in my case, mortgage and car payments) are adequately covered (i.e. money in your bank account). Well, I don't work out in the park - instead I am back in TDA. But a lot of people start there as contractors, casual temporary and hourly if that's your aim.
