  • Can a complement card get a Cm in trouble?

If you complement a CM and say specifically what they did for you, is there a chance it might be something they're not really supposed to do, and they will get in trouble? Should I keep my complements relatively vague?

Re: Can a complement card get a Cm in trouble?

I would say something like : "This CM went above and beyond for me today and made my day extra magical!" If you think what they did was something that might get them into trouble it is better to err on the side of caution.

yes! i had a very kind CM do something that for sure wasn't allowed, but it was one of those one-time things. i just left a very vague compliment like churro suggested.

I think a compliment card like this:
Your awesome Cast Member, Brad, let me into the park for free. Later he gave me free stuff from the Emporium. After that, I went for a ride on top of his ice cream vending wagon, it was so much fun running over people in New Orleans Square.
could totally get a CM in trouble.

i think when we were at DL last july there was a young CM who went way above and beyond.but I am sure some of the help he gave us could have gotten him in a bit of trouble. but I wanted to make sure he got recognition so I left a generic comment about how he made my families day even more magical with his help. and he truly did. I really enjoy singling out CMs who deserve it. they need to know people appreciate what they do.

I always make a point of leaving compliment cards if I've been helped by an extra special CM. I think it's very important to praise CMs that help make your time at the parks and hotels more magical. Excellent service deserves notice and reward. So maybe here is the place to ask. Beyond compliment cards any other suggestions how guests can see to it that CMs get rewarded for a job well done?

Well, if you see someone in buisness suit/attire near the area, odds are they're their manager You might want to tell them.

Or honestly, though comment cards and "guest fanatics" are nice to get, nothing beats a personal thank you. Most (good) cast members aren't nice because they have to be, but because they want to make people's vacation special. So there you have it, nothing's more satisfying than a simple thanks... though every once and a while those comment cards do come in handy

I assume they take every card with a grain of salt. You never know if the person submitting the card was a nutcase. Still, if someone is a problem they are bound to get multiple complaints. That should raise some eyebrows.
