  • Tattoos?

I got a friend who, for about the last 4 years, has had his heart set on some day working at disneyland. He recently got a tattoo, and immediately after its completion he remembered the cast appearance guidelines. So now the question is dose disney still consider a tattoo a taboo, or dose my buddy have a chance?

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: Tattoos?

Is the tatoo seen by all? If it is, then it is a no go at Disney. That is a big taboo for them. The only way a person can get hired with a tat, is if it is completely hidden. Now, the only other possibility and it is a long shot, is if your friend was hired backstage, not in fron of the park guests. That option needs to be explored with casting.

If its a little tatoo on the neck or something. You are allowed to cover it up by a bandage.

Now they seem to be a little more lax about it, when I was there in the summer, I was standing next to a custodial cm, wearing shorts, and I could see he had a large tattoo down the side of his leg, but it was covered with makeup

Not to get too far off track, but has the facial hair thing been relaxed/dropped?

I really think that it depends on the size, placement and content of the tattoo. If it's a big naked lady on his forearm.. it might be a probelm!

To live would be an awfully big adventure.

Mustaches are still allowed, but no beards or goatees.

                      Here's a trivia question:

Besides Walt having a mustach, there was another cast member who was allowed to wear one, prior to the policy that was implemented for not allowing male cast members to wear one. This is a bit tough, but this was from my era as a cast member in the 70's. I will tell you this cast member was in Frontierland.

The guy I am referring to (name unknown to me) was in the Golden Horseshoe band.

I don't think he's the one you're thinking of, but what about Trinidad?

To the OP, I think the actual language of the policy reads "no visible tattoos."

One of my roommates had a black tribal tattoo on her forearm. She covered it up every day with really heavy makeup. It looked like she had blotchy skin, but it worked.
Of course, your friend always has the option of long-sleeves or pants, as well.
