  • Did that CM really just say that?

Okay everybody. Post the craziest thing you've ever heard a CM say on-stage within earshot of Guests. This could be answering someone's questions, delivering a spiel, making an announcement, or even just saying something a co-worker that didn't seem right. Something that either suprised you, made you laugh, or even made you a little unhappy (although please, let's not turn this into complaints about individual CMs.)

My weirdest CM story. This was about ten years ago. We're at DL, riding the train around the park at night. Somewhere between Small World and Tomorrowland, about where that asphalt surface backstage is, the train comes to a halt. Something is happening at the front (maybe someone crossing that pathway or something?) and everything has stopped.

A CM gets on the speaker system and says, quote:

"Don't worry folks, this isn't a train robbery... They already took care of that at the front gate."

I had to say I was rather amused, although only later did I recognize the Knott's reference (never been on that train before.) Some people looked a little unsure if they should laugh or not, so it probably didn't do much to calm anyone down.

Post your crazy quotes! The more outrageous, the better!

on the Jungle Cruise in the Hippo Pool:

"A baby hippo was just born and if you listen closely, I'm sure we can here it... mama, mama. *Bang, Bang* It's alright guys, I think I got it."

That was the most amazingly hilarious thing I had ever heard on the Jungle Cruise.

I was in DCA in the Anamation attraction and my wife and I just got out watching the film about Walt Disney that Eisner Narratrates. The CM at the door asked what we thought and I told him it was awesome but could of done without Eisner who is not too friendly when it comes to artists, The cm smiled ang said "Yeah, just watching Eisner up there gloating about the man who's dream he is crushing can sort of tarnish whatever magic is left"
Of course he told me this and we got to talking and I informed him I was a former CM. I don't think he would of said this to any "Normal" guest.

That is just sooooooo cool. I lover it. Good thing nobody from PETA were on board. They would deemed that so unPC and next thing we get is automatic boats with recorded spiels

About 2 years ago my friends and I rode all the rides in Disneyland Park. (8:00am to 9:00pm) After getting off the Tea Cups the CM asked us what we were doing. She actually suggested that we get the special assist. pass to bypass the lines. We didn't take her up on it since we wanted to do this task without any help. Just surprised she suggested this..

That is fantastically fantastic. I wish all the skippers on the Jungle Cruise had the balls to make awesome jokes like that. And the whole PC thing is just crap. If someone actually wanted to PC everything in the park, they would basically need to tear the whole place down and start over.

PETA shouldn't waste their time stopping people from shooting robotic hippos. That's the most insane thing I have ever heard.

              Sorry for getting off topic.

One of the ride operators at Splash Mountain on New Years Eve was totally outrageous. She would get on the PA and constantly nag about how people should stop blowing their horns, quit sitting on the rails in a totally bitchy tone. She had such an incredible attitude when I saw her later too. It wasn't that she said anything inappropriate it was just that she said it with a snotty tone of voice. I personally enjoyed it and thought it was hilarious that she got so pissed at the guests, but I'm sure some guests might've found it ofrfensive.

Since I live in Minnesota and work at the Disney Store at the Mall of America, I can only dream of working at Disneyland. (And someday I just might.) On my trip in July I was going though the park with my mom that day. We went into Toon Town and got fast passes for Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin. The return time wasn't bad, so we went around and met some characters and returned back to the attraction. We then picked up our second round of fast passes while we were in the back of the park (since it's hard for my mom to walk).
As you know there are two cars are linked together to load two (or three with a small child) in each. Our first time through the Cast Member louding asked for a party of two and we cut through the gate to ride with another party of two. Our second time through I was listening for the same thing to happen since I didn't think I saw any parties of two in front of us. The Cast Member was different this time around and he "asked" for a party of two. I was simply curious and asked him why. He said that he asked, but I didn't hear him. As we went around, I asked him why he did that. I said nicely that I was listening for it and didn't see a hand gesture or hear him. I said that I was only curious and I wasn't raising my voice at all. He then said, "do you want my job?" and I paused and replied, "Excuse me?" He repeated his question. I said no, when I really should have said yes because I would love it. We then loaded onto the attraction and later made a stop by City Hall. I read the same guidelines book from The Walt Disney Company and that was no where in there. They sent a manager over from Toon Town and we weren't exactly in a rush (and my mom liked the time to rest). Apparently this same Cast Member has been "joking" with guests like this before. I think that's quite sad. Needless to say, the manager tired to hire me when I told him I actually did want his job. Too bad I had to turn it down to come back here.

We were actually jumping out of the cups after the ride ended. The CM thought it would be easier for us to complete our task without having to wait in lines... That's all...

                    Oh my!!

This all happend off-stage next to the Inn Between last summer. Cinderella was coming off stage while I was going on stage. Before going on stage there's a large mirror before heading out where CM can get a last look. Well I was about to go on stage when Cinderella spotted me and said, " Hey cutie everything looks fine from here, why not show me your magic wand." Shocked I laughed and played it off. Why couldn't this happen to me when I was single!!!!!

I was answering phone calls for dining one day and the CM next to me had a guest that was booking multiple restaurants. One of the restaurants that they were booking had a dress code, and the guest asked if they rest of the restaurants did as well. The CM next to me said that all they ask is that you at least wear clothes.

When I heard that I started laughing so hard I had to take myself off the phone call for a couple of seconds to recompose myself before getting back on with my guest.

Funny this should come up, cause I just heard one yesterday. At Aladdin at DCA, as Aladdin and Carpet were running off to find Jasmine, Genie yelled "Fine! Just don't do what I say! Damn!" At first I thought I was going crazy, but everyone else around me heard it too. Sooo funny - to us, at least.
"I don't need intelligent drugs because I don't know what they are. But I will put anything into my mouth that is given to me, whether it's supposed to go there or not. Because... I'm different."

I loved Heather! I enjoyed when she made the announcement "Would you please be courteous to other guests and not blow the horns too often" and she actually relayed your extra "or at all" to the rest of the people in line.

In all fairness, those New Years horns made me consider crushing one or two childrens' paper party hats... RAWRGH!
