  • How do you put a year pin on a nametag?

This is bothering me somewhat. I got my 1 year pin today and I tried sticking it into the position from the front of the nametag, but I pressed so hard, I bent the stick part. Then I tried bending the stick part back and it broke off completely, leaving me with just the front of the pin (all I really need anyway) and the part that holds it in place on the back.

Anyway, how the hell are we supposed to get the pin into the nametag? I just folded a piece of tape (so it's sticky on both sides) and put the pin on like that. It seems like it'll hold. Also, what's the policy on broken/replacement pins? Anyone know? Should I just ask my manager to order me another one? Problem is it won't help if I can't get it on in the first place.

And I did try to stick the broken point into my other nametags (I have six...) and it was the same story: it won't go through, but maybe that's just because I was using the broken point at that time.

    Thanks in advance.

First of all, congrats on your first year.

One thing you can do it just jam the pin through your name tag or take it to the TEAM Center and have it do it for you. Easy as pie!

I remember how proud I was to get those pins...especially my five year pin. I lost it once, and believe I had to pay to replace it. This was over 25 years ago. If only I had kept them...

And by all means, wave, congratulations on your one year pin!
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

here's what i heard: Get a large sewing needle. Heat it up with a match or a lighter, then while it's still hot, push it into the nametag where you want the hole. Goes right through the plastic, and voila, a service pin hole.

Take your broken pin with you to the TEAM Center and they can punch a hole in it for you and give you a replacement pin. Tell them what happened and I believe they won't charge you for it since you are bringing back your old, broken pin.

Years ago they made a special variety of nametag that had the hole already in it, just for service pins, or your DREAM pin, or a Partners in Excellence pin .. they should resurrect that variety...

My WDW name-tag has pre-cut holes in it for both the partners and service pin. I guess it's different in DL?

The TEAM Center should have this thing that looks like a handheld hole puncher but the needle is small and can punch a hole in a nametag. Like I said, just take your broken pin and your name tag and they can do it for you there.

I poked it through myself...but cracked my name tag.
                    oh well
