i dont mind the change over at all. to me at least the prices didn't go up to much, maybe by a dollar or two, they still offer a dollar ninety nine meals, and they just recently brought back the ice cream cooler back to the DCA cafe! the only thing i do not like is that we no longer get free refills.
it's not really well liked by 3rd shift custodial people, and they let them know that. frankly, I consider the roach coach a better deal. gave the inn between 3 different tries, and it's a let down. only meal of passing quality I think for the price is the chicken basket for $3.99. that's only in a pinch though, much prefer the roach coach.
I was shocked to pay $3.99 for a burger and it didn't come with fries at all
At first I was happy about the change, simply because I'd been living with the same Star Dinerz menu for so long, the new food offerings were more than enough to please me. However, the honeymoon period may be wearing off for me. They are constantly running out of stuff, and occasionally substitute things without warning (sloppy joe sauce on penne pasta for example). Also, last weekend the Westside decided to close up an hour earlier than scheduled and everyone from the order cook to the manager were arguing that even though the park closed at 2300, and the Westside closes 2 hours before park closing, that their closing time was in fact 2000.
Also, you will probably never see real dishes/trays at the Inn Between and Westside (and other locations I'm sure), because they don't actually have any kitchen or dish washing space at those locations. Only the Eat Ticket and DCA Cafe do. All food is shipped over from one of those two locations, and all dishes must be shipped back for cleaning.

Not very happy about having to pay for my fries seperate.or having to pay $.99 for a refill....but i think for the most part the food is good..and its really nice to get food service where people ar actually smiling back at you.
So far I like the service and food, although I wasn't around to experience it before so I can't compare. Each time I've eaten there (DCA Cafe) I got whatever the special of the day was. It was hot and tasty. I thought the serving size was just right, as it pretty much filled me up without making me feel weighted down and drowsy the rest of my shift. I think they're going for "healthy-sized" portions, rather than typical "American-sized".
Although I've been bringing my own lunch lately so I don't have to spend half my lunch hiking over there.
