Traditions question

It says comfortable shoes can be worn, does that mean i can wear my vans? if there is a lot of walking I'd prefer my vans to my dress shoes.

You probably should invest in a good pair of black leather Sketchers. Comfortable and good enough for onstage. Oh yes, you will be going onstage. So dress like it.

The black leather sketchers are a good idea since you will need the once you start OJT, but they aren't necissary for traditions. Just nice clean shoes since you will be on stage for a while.

Yea on the traditions thing it says "comfortable closed toed shoes with socks (clean athletic shoes are acceptable" Your really not on stage that much Only like an hour to an hour and a half if that!

I wore the most comfortable dress shoes I had. I wouldn't recommend sneakers unless they are entirely black like you will be wearing on stage. They're not going to yell at you or anything, but you will be making your first impression, and it's nice to have an appearance that says "I'm taking this seriously."

I wear these shoes to work about 80-90% of the time... I've had a lot of people ask me where I got them...

Anyone who works in Foods will probably recognize the brand name... I work in Stores, and bought the shoes when I worked at Pizza Hut.

Yay!!! Shoes for Crews!!!! I wish they would let us choose from the catalog, or a larger selection. On the very rare occassion that I might be in a skirt I would love to have those mary jane's rather than the small heels they offer. But for my regular costume, my oxfords work great.

I wish Disney would let non-Foods Cast Members order them period. When ordered through the payroll deduction program, the money comes out of your paycheck, and they give you a discount. The shoes would be shipped to the work location, however; they won't ship to another address unless it's paid for with a credit card, and those orders don't get discounted.

Now, since I no longer work for Pizza Hut, if I wanted to replace my shoes after they get worn out, I would have to pay full price, since Disney doesn't have such an arrangement with Shoes for Crews.

There is something I've been wondering though. If I was to hypothetically transfer to Foods, would management be stupid and insist that I get shoes issued by Costuming?

Get your black shoes before Traditions, you could wind up working OJT the very next day at 6am. Who's going to sell you shoes at 5am before that?
