  • Your Last Day in the Magic Kingdom

How about your last day at the Magic Kingdom? We have your first day on the job, let's here stories about your last day!

My last day I was extended as always until 12:45am. I worked Ice cream in toon town next to goofy's freeze and then helped out backstage with stocking up the carts and stuff. Kinda felt sad knowing I wouldn't be working at Disneyland anymore. Glad I did it for the summer of 04.

You must have felt like you were leaving home.

I didn't know my last day was going to be my last day. I called up from home one day and quit, having had enough of my GF (who I'd broken up with a few weeks earlier) calling me at every attraction I was on. The park feels a lot smaller when you're trying to avoid someone.
"The old man's gonna knock on the sky. Listen to the sound."

      AP'er since 2004. Yup.....I'm one of THEM.

My last day was really odd I gave a couple of months notice to my director and was told not to announce my plans with anyone. When the day finally came they announced my departure to a couple of the hourly and also tried to have two going away party's. One was for management the other was for management and the hourly cast members. I refused the two party scenario and requested one party with everyone. This sort of separation of management and hourly always bothered me it was my last day so I figured I'd put my foot down. They ended up having one party but half of the management team didn't show up.

After the party I went to TDA to do an exit interview. The exit interview consisted of some blanket questions. I felt it was my one opportunity to voice my opinion and hopefully help other cast members. So I told them some of the problems I encountered over the years with management and various systems. I also asked what they do with the information I provided. They stated it just gets filed (as in know one will ever look at it). I could tell the people doing the interview were simply filling out the paper work because they were instructed to.

Once the interview was complete I was told that I could stay on site for the day or go home. I half expected to be escorted off site as I've seen happen to the hourly cast. They literally have security escort the CM to their cars and make sure they drive off the lot.

It was a strange departure as never really had a chance to say goodbye to all the cm's and I'm positive they think I just up a quit without notice.

So the lesson I learned at DL don't bother giving notice and skip the exit interview

My last day sucked. I was an extra so I didn't really do anything except sweep and clean up the ODV warehouse and load/unload wagons with drinks. BORRRINGGG!!!!

My last day at the Pirates' Shop was brilliant! We had a huge party in the stock, I brought lots of food and even two bottles of champagne (never ever have we been so friendly with guests
We all went onstage and my manager (!!) asked a guest (!!) to take a picture of us in front of the shop.
Then, some two hours before my shift ended, I started crying, and I kept crying till I arrived at Costuming two and a half hours later. I was devastated, and many guests were staring at me, but I just couldn't stop crying.....so sad.....

The last day of my College Program I was working Guest Relations at EPCOT. The last part of my night was to go do the VIP seating at Illuminations for the night. About two hours of chatting with guests and watching the best fireworks show ever made...what a way to go out.
Till I move back in May!
