  • Where do you buy bedding?

My daughter wants to redo her room for Christmas and I am on the hunt for a comforter or duvet cover in turquoise or lime green. I can't find anything I am too excited about except for Pottery Barn's expensive stuff. I have looked at all the obvious places, Walmart, Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond and many more. Any one have any other ideas?

I don't know where you live, but Linens N Things is going out of business. Usually that means it will be hard to find the color or style you want, but you can maybe find a good deal there.

Another place you might want to look is at Anna's Linnens if ther is one by you.

If money is no object you may want to try Between The Sheets, a specialty boutique linnen shop in Newport Beach at Fashion Island. Perhaps their prices won't be quite as bad considering the tough times for retailers right now.
Good luck. Who knows maybe it's as simple as Macy's Home store.

I go to Kohl's or JC Penny. That's where I find all of my bedding.

You might try http://www.lakeside.com or Collections Etc.: Unique gifts, home and garden decor, and housewares. Almost everything $19.99 or less! I find all kinds of goodies there.

JC Penny is pretty good too. I'm not real crazy about their quality, which is ok but not quite luxurious. They are not overpriced, so if you aren't looking to spend an arm and a leg this would be a good place to look.

Kohls is similar but I think Pennys has more of a selection. IMO

One thing to keep in mind about buing your sheets on line is you can't feel them until you get them.

For example if you are buying a 300 threadcount sheet set normally this would mean a fairly smooth sheet but depending on the manufacturer the feel of the sheet may not be to your liking. Just because something has a high threadcount does not always mean the sheet will feel a certain way - there are variances due to the type of cotton used by the manufacturer.

Try Company Store Kids. They are a bit more reasonable than PBK, with much better quality.

Do you have a Cost Plus Market nearby? They had a gorgeous deep turquoise/teal duvet there. In King it was about $90, so I'm sure it is cheaper in smaller sizes.

I redid my bedroom earlier this year. Got the new coverlet at Bed Bath & Beyond and most of the toss pillows at Linens N Things. Oh and I got the blanket at Target. Oddly enough, the softest sheets I own, I got at Wal-Mart almost 4 years ago.

If you are dead set on finding a particular color, The Company Store is the way to go. The other stores will give you a hit-or-miss selection, so you have to decide if you are in it for the thrill of the hunt and a possible bargain, or if you just want what you want (and have it delivered to your house- bonus!) You can even search by color on their website- The Company Store - comforters - pillows - featherbeds - towels and fine bedding

Maybe not the cheapest route but Nordstrom Rack also. I got Calvin Klein pillows there for $10 each.
