  • So... What type of hair products do you use?

I'm constantly going back and forth between high end stuff like Redken & Paul Mitchell and the "drugstore" brands like Suave, Pantene & L'Oreal.

But tonight I got my hair colored (no more grey... yay!) and cut (no more split ends... double yay!) after work and the guy who did it highly recommended a product like called Keune (www.keune.com). It's from Holland. I ended up buying the after color shampoo & conditioner, which have a low ph so it keeps the color from fading, whereas even other high end shampoos & conditioners have a migh higher ph which opens the hair cuticle and the color gets washed out. It wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be either... $10.50 for each. Plus the salon gave me a card to get stamped for every $10 I spend and once it's filled I get $20 worth of free product.

So this Keune shampoo & conditioner paired with my Suave Professionals version of Paul Mitchell volumizing mousse and Renken's Glass should be a good combination. We'll see how it goes when I take a shower tomorrow morning!

    Sooooooo.... what do YOU use?

I think I've used them all at one time in my life (so far) I love Paul Mitchell but in the past few years it just doesn't seem to work as well as when his line first came out. I also loved the Susan Lucci line from Qvc. I was an Avon Rep for many years and became addicted to their hair care line Techniques which was absolutely wonderful. Infact, I'm thinking of going back to that line again. As for right now, I just took a shower and used a 2-in-1 by Suave, not a big fan of 2-in-1 but you know how it is when you send a man to the store for shampoo :lmao:

Most men have no real concept of what us women go through to make our hair look nice.

I used my new Keune shampoo/conditioner today and it worked real well. I totally noticed the difference in the color of the suds than when I washed freshly colored hair with even a high end product like Biolage or Nexxus. I color my hair a very dark brown/black with red/violet highlights, so the suds when I wash my hair the first few times after a fresh color job are usually purple. Today it was a very pale lilac shade compared to the darker purple in the past. So this low ph stuff is definitely the schnizzit for color treated hair. Yay!

I love Herbal Essences Citrus Lift shampoo & conditioner...the pink grapefruit kind. And I adore the Biosilk hair serum. It makes my hair feel nice.

I don't use ANYTHING on my hair. Well, I shampoo, of course! My hair is very low maintenance. I wash and dry!

Right now i'm using Suave clarifying shampoo (since mine get's oily fast), then John Frieda "beautiful brunette" for conditioner (since my mane is crazy thick). Seems to be a good combo for now. Oh, and I never use any other type of product afterwards...no gel etc...
Marge: Barnacle Bill's Home Pregnancy Test? Homer, shouldn't we have gone with a better-known brand?
Homer: But Marge, this one came with a corn-cob pipe!
Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?
                    Marge: Pink.
                    Homer: D'oh!
Marge: "If ye test should fail, to a doctor set sail!"

Yes, because I sometimes wear hair extensions for dance productions and other special events!! The special spray I use to keep the extensions looking good I use is just fabric softener and it smells great! : )

As Wilema can testify...I use paper confetti~~

Pantene is the shampoo and conditioner of choice these days.

I've tried Techniques by Avon, Sauve, Paul Mitchell, VO5 (killed my hair), Herbal Essence, and beauty supply/professional brands. I've yet to find anything that makes my hair smooth and silky like it used to be before the "sparkles" arrived (I refuse to say that I have gray hair, even if its true, I have sparkles!)

One I used as a teenage was Milk+6. That was a great shampoo. I wish they still made it.
                        Boo!

Thank you, I'm still vacuuming it up!

I've always wanted to be a blonde...I used to leave the shampoo in my hair for a long time, waiting for it work like it did on my mom...it never did. Now I have "sparkles" works for me!

I use Biltmore Spa for shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion.
