  • Hair Bumpits ?!

Ok, has anyone used these crazy things. They are little plastic arches that you put in your hair to create the teased pouf look. I am liking the idea but wondering if they work since most of that "as seen on tv" stuff doesn't!

I'm wondering the exact same thing. My hair won't hold a tease at all.

I thought they looked really cool. My hubby just bought me a set, so I could get it in a couple weeks. I will do a review when I get them. Also if you want, Sally Beauty Supply now carries them. When I went to go buy them last week, they were out of the brunette ones. My hubby was trying to surprise me with a set since I couldn't find them anywhere...so sweet. He just didn't know that Sally was getting a new shipment yesterday. But oh well..can't wait to try them!

I don't know. Personally, I think they are kind of ugly - well, at least what they show on tv. I don't see why they wouldn't work though, they are probably just like the big hair clips without the handle. I heard some lady at Target talking about how she loved her bumpit though.

The lady across the street told me all bout how much she loves hers. She looked like Elvira to me. But she swears they work great!

I haven't used them, but I always just "bump" my hair myself with a barette.
                Good morning, son

Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                It was pain
                Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

I have one and it is AMAZING!!

Plus it is so much healthier than teasing the hair

I would love to try them...but, they are so expensive on tv...once you add in shipping, etc. I'll have to check at sally's. If I can find one...

I saw the infomercial online today and they scare me! Its not hard to backcomb your hair to get the same, less scary, look! And if it wont hold a tease, big sexy products makes a spray called backcomb in a bottle that works on every hair type! (I myself have to use this)

I always thought using some kind of support under there would be a lot better than ratting it... Healthier, less injury to the hair. Man, if you've ever seen my own hair tangle, you'd know what I mean! Childhood was a nightmare for me until I could brush out my own hair. It practically backcombs itself into 1 big birds' nest sometimes. So I stay away from teasing it.
I'm sure that for movies, photoshoots, and other profession places where they do a lot of hair styling, lots of fake hair pieces are used, as well as foam supports to create the desired shape underneath. Clipping in pre-made rats or foam pieces is much better for myself, and it seems like the bumpit is just an adjustable version of those! probably a little expensive for what it is, of course. You could just make your own rats or foam pieces to whatever size you want and pin them in.

they will probably hot the as seen on tv aisles in the stores soon. I see a lot of as seen on tv stuff in staples for some reason.

They are about $30.00 for all 5 on HSN including shipping.
