I am very sad to hear that department 56 is gone,
I love Christmas ornaments like they sold.

Where can I get nice ornaments in the area of disneyland? Is there any place like that in Garden Walk?

I am looking for the glass ones, that are not disney themed.

This maybe shocking for you all to read, however i think I am the only one in my city of 32,000 who likes Disney as much as everyone here. I love to give the decorations as gifts.... so I need non Disney ones.

Anyone seen any?

You can order online from Bronners though. Seriously, that place is HUGE. We used to there every year when I was a kid (I grew up in Michigan) to get new Christmas ornaments/decorations, then go into Frankenmuth for more shopping and the world-famous chicken dinner at Zehnder's or at the Bavarian Inn (I always preferred the latter though the exact same thing was across the street because both restaurants are run by the same family).

I have a pickle ornament. We don't hide ours like tradition suggests but I enjoy putting it on our tree for what it represents. I like things that have stories.
I too am sad about Department 56. I loved going in there and gandering at the amazing displays and hoping someday for my own Christmas train set and village. At some of our local discount retail home stores I have seen some Dept. 56 items. None of them were ones I would buy, which is a shame.

I love my pickle too...... it's just there waiting for someone to ask me why I have a pickle on my tree.... I put my tree up on Friday...4th i think it was...
I also could spend hours inside dept. 56..... I was hoping there would be pictures of the christmas items in the park for me too oogle over, but not many pictures sadly
