  • Ariel is not warm enough for those cold halloween nights

I'm going to the halloween party on Friday dressed as Ariel in her blue human outfit

Unfortunately, I think it's going to be cold and I can't think of a way to be warm without killing my costume. Any ideas?

A cloak or a cape of some sort? That's about all I can think of.

I'm with Izzy on the cloak/cape idea. You can also wear a semi-thin layer underneath your costume to give you some extra warmth.

I'm of no help, but that'd be a cool costume, have fun

Wear a thin t-shirt or spagetti strap top underneath, it won't show through.

Hmmm. This whole time I was thinking about something to go on top, I never even considered layering underneath. You guys are brilliant. <3 I'll post pictures if I end up satisfied with the end result. Here's hoping.

Heated undergarments should do the trick!

Tights or knee highs. There are tights out there that are made of thicker stuff than shear nylon, and probably would be time-period appropriate.

Layering underneath is totally going to be your best bet. You could hit up your local sporting goods store and get some thermals. The thermal tops usually come up pretty high on the neck so you may need to do some trimming, but thermal pants would definitely come in handy!

Can't wait to see pictures of you costume!
