  • Something borrowed, something blue....

As some of you might recall, I've been busy planning my wedding for some time now. The special day is July 9th and it's getting down to the wire. :0

I'm having a destination wedding (Virginia City, NV) and I have almost everything planned out. But my something 'new' is becoming elusive. I thought, "Oh heck! My dress and shoes are new." And now I'm thinking that's kinda lame.

What did you married ladies use as your "something old, new, borrowed, blue"?

I'll share what I have thus far:

    OLD- grandmother's platinum wedding ring
BORROWED - friend is bringing a vintage hanky for wedding day use
BLUE - getting blue polish with pre-ceremony pedicure
    NEW- ?

I know a lot of people who have used their garter as something new (or blue). But I also have friends who are pretty non-traditional and didn't adhere to any of that traditional wedding stuff. I myself am not married but I wish I could help you figure out your something new! What about if your "something new" isn't an actual item, but your union as a married couple? That's something new for sure.

        Re: Something borrowed, something blue....

You know, I remember fussing so much over the wedding, including over needing something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. It was such a big deal to me at the time! And now, almost 3 years later, I haven't the slightest idea what I ended up using.

          New panties it is.

But, now I'm having fits about people not RSVPeeing (heh heh). If they aren't going, they should let me know as soon as they know, dangit.

I don't want to waste food or booze.

Oooh! Fun fact for all you Johnny Depp lovers: Mr. Depp briefly stayed at the mansion where our ceremony will take place. Rumor has it that he "saw an apparition of a little girl" while staying there. I don't believe in ghosts, but it's funny that the people running the place like to tell people about that.
