    Re: Christmas Craft Idea

well I have a goofy stuffed animal. and years back I would dress him up in red and white construction paper to make him look like santa. Then I took a wrapper off of a soup can and filled it with candy and placed it on Goofys lap so that people could get candy from Goofy It was fun when I use to do it a few years back.

I also took all of my Disney Characters (like my moms angel Eeyore and Snowman Eeyore) and I would just set them up all over the house.

Here's pics from the front of my house! I love my Mardi Graw balcony! John alwaya brings up the subject of beads...but I digress!

The suckers are super easy...and they are stuck into the ground about 4 inches...and have withstood our Kansas winds...40+ gusts. So I think they might make it!

      Us girls, we're so magical.
Soft skin, red lips, so kissable.
      Hard to resist, so touchable.
      Too good to deny it.

            Re: Christmas Craft Idea

I did this craft with both of my kids when they were in Kindergarten. The kids dug it. My ten year old loves that I put it out every year.

            Snow Globe Craft

            What you need:
            Baby food jar
            Small plastic toys, figurines
Sliver or white glitter (or small beads)
            Corn Syrup***
            Craft glue

            What to do:
Glue the plastic figurines (and any other water-proof stuff you want in there) to the inside of the jar lid. Wait for the glue to dry.

Fill the jar almost to the top (leave a little space) with corn syrup. Then add the glitter or beads!

Put the lid on the jar and glue it around the edges (to make sure it's sealed!). Then, let it sit until it's dry.

Flip it over, and your snow scene is right-side up! Shake it to see the blizzard!

              Re: Christmas Craft Idea

Just got done with our advent countdown thingy this year...We usually do a paper chain...but I wanted to do something special this year.

              http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...utter/xmas.jpg

              http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...r/PC020001.jpg

I used toilet paper rolls, cut them in half.

Inside I put little slips of paper with a "gift or goodie" on each slip. The goodies are things like ice cream after school, trip to the bakery, McDonalds for supper, some have little chocolates in them. Other goodies are things like Christmas pencils, playing cards, pop rocks, bazooka gum. I even stuck a dollar in one.

I also put things in like game night with mom, make popcorn balls together, watch a movie together...things like that!

Wrapped each little tube in cellophane and tied with a ribbon. They are all marked with a number...and we'll rip one open each day!

I wanted to tie them all together in one big chain, but I couldn't figure out to stick them together where we could get them off easy!

              The kids are excited!

                  Re: Christmas Craft Idea

Very cute idea! My sister made this advent calendar for my twins:

It has something for them to do each day -- yesterday was make a paper chain and today's was talk about why Christmas is important. For today's Jared said, "Give stuff people have no toys. Help people get toys." Rebecca said, "It's important because it's Baby Jesus' birthday." (they're 3 1/2; I was pretty pleased with their responses!).

Oh, for your tubes, you could take a really long piece of yarn and tie slip knots in it for each tube and just slide them in (they'd all hang horizontally).

I had really wanted the cute little advent tree from Starbucks with the little pull out drawers full of chocolates...but they were out the day after Thanksgiving! Drat!

I am so craft-challenged it's not funny. My mom loves doing stuff like that though.

                        Love the advent calendar/countdown ideas!

My favorite thing i made when I was young were tin punch oprnaments. I'm not eactly sure how to make them - take a tin frozen juice lid or a baby food jar lid, get a pattern and punch holes in that pattern. We used ours as ornaments.
                        Good morning, son
                        In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                        It was pain
                        Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
