  • Sephora In-Store Customer Service

On Sunday, I popped my two cousins' Sephora cherries. It was so much fun! They live in Eureka, CA and donn't have a Sephora close to them. They were going to go to the one in Sacramento next month, but I offered to take them this past weekend instead. I even took a picture of them in front of the store.

We went to the Glendale Galleria store. It is a little smaller than others I have been to, but still fun to shop at. I have had decent luck with help there, but this past Sunday, the girls working were not very friendly.

My cousin asked for help with BE, she wanted a full make-over to see how the product looked on her before she bought it. They only color matched her. She went to get it and they were out of it up front. The girl said they were doing inventory and she could not get any new kits from the back.

We walked around a bit, I showed off some of my favorite lines and products, then I wandered off to get the items I was there for. I asked another girl for help with samples of the DDF Redness Relief and the B. Kamins Roseacea treatment. She gave me attitude too. Um hello, I am not spending $70 on a product without knowing if it is worth it first.

I reminded my cousin that she should be able to get a free sample of BE to try, but the girl said nuh uh, no way, no samples of BE. I thought they gave free samples of everything? She could have been nice about it.

One of my cousins wnet nuts, buying 6 shades of the Bourjois eye shadows. There was one color I had to get too. It's called Khaki. It is funky in the package but beautiful on the eye. It would look great as a wet liner. My other cousin had to get the NARS Orgasm blush. One of her friends has it and swears by it.

How is the customer service at your local Sephora? Are they consistently nice, helpful, courteous?

So far I've always had great service at both the South Coast Plaza store and at DtDisney. Oh, and in San Francisco, too. My mom went to the SCP store and had a terrible experience, wrote them a scathing letter and never heard back. The girls working the front were too busy putting making up on one of their guy friends that they couldn't/wouldn't attend to my mom and my aunt, so they walked out. I was shocked.

I live hundreds of miles away from the closest Sephora, so actually getting to visit one is a BIG deal. I have only been to 2 stores: DTD at DL and Times Square in NYC. Both times the products were great but the service was awful! In DTD I asked where the Philosophy stuff was kept because I wanted to smell the lemonade flavour. She asked if I was planning on buying it. I asked why and she said because she didn't want to waste time testing if I wasn't buying. In NYC I was looking to buy a Tarte Flush Stick when the salesgirl (uninvited) asked if I wanted to try some foundation since I had such "bad" skin." I thought my husband was going to punch her. Those kinds of salesgirls remind me of the mean girls in high school.

What a horrible Sephora experience HoppyPooh! :ghug:

I have had excellent service at the DTD store, but the best Sephora for customer service is the one at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga. Very helpful, leave you alone unless you need help.

That's unfortunate that you had to deal with those employees.

The only one I've gone to, besides the one outside the Venetian Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas is the one in Downtown Disney, good customer service there. There is one much closer to me at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga but haven't had the chance to visit yet--good thing though because I can't go in there without spending over $50.

E626, That is a great store. It is super easy to get in and out of because there is a parking structure close by. Victoria Gardens also has a HUGE Ulta.

Thanks, I'll have to check it out! And I'll have to check out that blush you mentioned. I have one from Smash Box that is running out and I need to get a new one! I haven't been to Sephora in a while but I got this lip gloss from Stila maybe that was a tangerine-y color. LOVED it! Need to see if they still carry it so I can get another one.

Here is a link to the color:

                  http://www.sephora.com/browse/produc...ategoryId=3976

This blush is consistently one of the most popular items at Sephora. I am glad I stumbled upon it. It's a great color.

                    Re: Sephora In-Store Customer Service

I've never had problems at the Arden Fair store or the Valley Fair store. Both great.

DTD I've had one bad experience, this woman was so rude, until when whomever I was with(I think it was Evilfer and Micey)were asking questions and she couldn't direct them to the right spot but I could and she said they were out of something and I said "nope they're on the front end cap" it was great

HOppypooh, that's horrible that you were treated so bad, totally unacceptable. :ghug:

626, Nars also has an Orgasm blush and bronzer duo that's WONDERFUL! Orgasm is such a great blush color!

                      Re: Sephora In-Store Customer Service

The closest and only Sephora by me is almost 20 miles away in Tampa at International Plaza. I've been there maybe 5 or 6 times since it opened last fall but the people working there have always been nice. When I went last week I wanted to get some BE blush in the new shade, Laughter. They were out, but the girl recommended Golden Gate instead, saying it was a nicer shade. I compared it with the tester of Laughter they had out and had to agree so I got that instead. And the girl that was helping my mom by the Bliss products was nice and helpful too.

When I went back in January, someone else was helping me pick out BE eyeshadows and I came up with an interesting combo of Shantung (maroon) on the lid and Pink Posey (light/bright pink glimpse) from the crease to the brow bone and she said, "Hey those two look pretty good together like that! I'll have to remember that one!"

I've always had the best experiences at sephora. The one in DTD gets really crowded and it's difficult to find help, because they are SOOO busy, but once they can get to you they are great. I love sephora..

I live in Reno and we have a small store here. I have gotten both good and mediocre service. I guess it just depends on the age of the personell and whether the manager is on duty or not. LOL
Christmas time I got the best service though. The sales person showed me a bunch of different items they had for special purchase and even gift wrapped my gifts.

I have been to the Sephora in the Venetian and had lousy service. To be fair though, they were quite busy. Well darn it that is no excuse though. I don't know about you but I am getting tired of mediocre service any where these days. Omg, does that mean I am getting Old? LOL

Just how did they know what an orgasm blush looked like in the first place? LOL

                            P.s. I still love sephora

I've always had just medicore service in the Sephora stores I've been in.
SCP, Mission Viejo, SF, DTD and a few others along my travels.

I think that I compare it to how faboo the online service is, and it just pales in comparison. Rarely do the sales associates offer samples and most of them seem new or untrained.

Online rocks. Super samples, great packing and terrific suggestive selling.

If I wanna get a make-over, I hit my trusty Lancome or Chanel counter at SCP. Those gals know how to put the colors together and make it fun to buy a new lipstick.
