  • Cute Kids Saying Cuter Things!

A mom and her approximately 4 year old son came into the store today. He was all dressed up with adult looking clothes (dockers, a sweater vest, and a little beret!) that made him look sooooo cute! So I was trying to wave and say hi while his mom was filling out the envelope labels for her letters.

I started helping the mom and rang her up on the register. When I looked at her son again, he was (what's the verb?) rubbing his finger up and down against his lips (you know... blthhhhththhh). So I laughed and asked if he was bored. He got all shy and hid behind his mom but kept peek-a-booing from behind her.

After mom was done licking the envelopes (we do have a glue stick but she opted not to use it) she :yuck: ed and said she always hates that taste. I motioned to our candy jar and said, "That's why we provide all sorts of tasty treats. To rid your mouth of that taste!"

So she takes a starburst and shows it to her son: "Do you know what this is?"

He looks at it in awe and then looks at me. He then looks back at her and squeaks: "Is that for me??"

She laughed and commented that he never gets any candy so it was kind of like his birthday for being offered a piece! I thought it was sooooo cute how he practically was  :yea:  :squeeze: all at the same time!
"But every night, when it gets dark
    and the stars come out,
I'll look up on her behalf.
I'll look up in the sky and think of you."

What kind of store do you work at...???
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

Very cute. The funny things kids say is one of the reasons I love teaching kindergarten.
