  • tea house?

    Hey ladies!
I am planning my birthday. I wanted to go to the McCharles House for a tea party, but they'll be closed on my birthday, June 2. Does anyone know of another cute tea place in Orange County? I have had tea at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel, but I'm wondering if there is another place that is cutesy and maybe have a garden that would be fun to go with a few friends. Oh, I've also had tea at the Huntington Library but I'd like some place where they serve you and hopefully in OC.
    Thanks!

    Re: tea house?

    Hi Brigeet,

Have you tried the Tea House on Los Rios in San Juan Capistrano?
    http://www.theteahouseonlosrios.com

It's not up there with the Ritz from the service/price and food quality, but certainly adorable and a cutesy place. It's located right in the heart of San Juan's historic district, over the railroad tracks. A great place to stroll, shop and dine.

    Happy birthday!

I think this is the one Kelly's talking about. I've not been there, but have driven by a few times and it is indeed purple!

My sister is an expert tea and scones person. I asked her and she came up with Tea and Teacups in Yorba Linda. One more place to consider!

I've never been to it, but there is one in the city of Orange. I forget the name of it, but a friend of mine has been there and enjoyed it.

I also found a website with a list of teahouses in Orange County. I hope this helps!

I had High Tea at Chado Tea Room (near Beverly Center) in LA on Saturday. Very nice! (But, not in OC.)

Yeah Chado was fun. I have to go back and buy more of the "Wedding Tea" though!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

                  Re: tea house?

Thank you all for your ideas! What's going to happen is we're going to just have a tea party at my mom's house for my birthday June 2. And then in summer I'm determined to go on a tea tour with my mom! I'd like to try two or three of these places this summer. Plus my mom's birthday is in summer so that's another excuse to go. Can you tell I'm a teacher? My life starts in summer it seems.
