  • I need a good low calorie cookbook recommendation

Can anyone recommend a good low calorie/low fat cookbook that the meals still taste good? I don't usually cook much at dinner time. I usually eat something small or eat Lean Cuisine type stuff. My husband and I are hosting an exchange student and I have been cooking dinner every night since he has been here. It has only been a little over a week, but I think if I keep eating like this I am going to gain weight. I would like to sit down and have a family dinner with him, I just want to cook more healthy things.

We use the Weight Watcher's cookbook. Also you can try subbing meats. Instead of hamburgers do turkey burgers. Plenty of salads. And salads don't have to be boring. I add nuts, dried fruits, low fat cheese, and then oil, vinegar, or lemon salad dressing. We make our own ice cream and make it low fat. You can substitute spinach and other good things.

I have heard the Cooking Light cookbooks are good.
            Good morning, son
            In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
            It was pain
            Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

I have the cooking light cookbooks and they are great. I just picked up the crock pot one at safeway.

Thanks for the recommendations. We picked up a couple of the cooking light cookbooks, since we could get those at the grocery store when we were there. The recipes we have made so far have been very good.

I've never eaten a cookbook. Just how many calories are in a cookbook?
