When do you decorate?

So with Thanksgiving coming up when do you start decorating your house for Christmas?

I really want to start decorating now but I'm trying hard to wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Usually the weekend after Thanksgiving. But this year we're moving mid-December, so we're skipping the decorating altogether. We will prob. get a tree at our new house if all goes well with the move.

The weekend after Thanksgiving, especially since I always spend a week at DL mid December for my birthday. I like to enjoy the decorations and have them completely up because when I come home there's only 7 days until Christmas.

next weekend. we always put the tree up lights and all decorations 1 week prior to thanksgiving , heck last year my kids and I did it the first week of November :lol: ( we got a new tree and put it together, it had so many branches I swore not to take it back down until after christmas :lol:

We always did our Christmas decorations right after Thanksgiving. We used to host Thanksgiving dinner at our house, so having Christmas decorations up for the guests would have been rather odd.

My dad starts decorating the outside of the house the day after Thanksgiving and my mom will start the inside of the house that weekend.

I usually start right after Thanksgiving as well. Keeps me away from the stores during that awful shopping weekend.

After working at a brand new mall the first 2 Christmas seasons it was open I hear you. I have all my shopping done by Halloween and wrapped soon after. Decorating is so much fun for me and usually takes the entire weekend.

I have started as early as the evening of Thanksgiving. But usually it's that weekend after Thanksgiving. Yeah, I am ready to start now, too!

Usually about 2 weeks before Christmas we put everything up.

My dad used to start putting up Christmas lights on Thanksgiving. There were so many that he would still be working on it on Christmas. It was awesome. We usually start decorating the first weekend of December and get our tree the second weekend of December. This year, we are going to AZ for Thanksgiving, so we are decorating next weekend so it will be all done when we come home!

The day after Thanksgiving for the outside and the next weekend for the inside.

Tree doesn't come in until 2 weeks prior to Christmas.

It all comes down the day after Christmas.

Usually they go up the day after Thanksgiving and come down the day after Christmas. But who knows this year. I'm working Black Friday, and my house is in complete disarray with the burst pipe / flooding. We will be having painters, floor installers etc. in the house for at least a couple of weeks.

We live in the forest... As soon as it gets cold it's like "hey it's Christmas time!" Plus our house kinda' lends itself to Christmas because we have green couches and my mom has red accents (red pillows and all.) I think the day after Thanksgiving, Mom is going to bust out the boxes.

Yes, when I was younger we had a real tree also, and wouldn't get it until 2 weeks before Christmas and would take it down on New Year's Day. But now I use artificial trees so I can put them up sooner and still leave them up till the 1st of January.

I try to get fresh tree branches for a wreath cuz I love that fresh cut Christmas tree smell.
