Can I get a pizza with extra robbery, please?
Domino's employee held up twice in one day

    Monday, January 22, 2007

(01-22) 11:01 PST FREMONT -- A Domino's Pizza employee in Fremont was robbed twice on one shift - once while delivering pizzas and again just hours later as he was cleaning up at his store, police said today.
"Who gets robbed twice in two-and-a-half hours? That's unusual," said Fremont police Sgt. Chris Mazzone.
It all began about 10 p.m. Friday when the 52-year-old Domino's employee, whose name wasn't released, was sent to an address on White Birch Terrrace, in the shadow of Washington Hospital in Fremont.
As the deliveryman was walking around a condominium complex and looking for the address, three youths assaulted him and punched him before he was "relieved of his pizzas," along with a warming bag, Mazzone said.
While the youths apparently ate the pies, they didn't get away with it: "The phone number that was used to place the order came back to the address," Mazzone said.
The three boys, all age 17, were taken to Alameda County Juvenile Hall in San Leandro. Police found three empty pizza boxes and recovered the warming bag.
The victim, meanwhile, returned to his store at 38487 Fremont Blvd. As he and the night crew were cleaning up for the night, they propped the front door open to allow the freshly mopped floor to dry, Mazzone said.
At about 12:20 a.m. Saturday, two men came into the store. One leapt over the counter, pointed a gun at an employee's face and yelled, "Give me the money," Mazzone said. The gunman pulled the trigger twice. The employee "heard two distinct clicks," Mazzone said.
The second robber ran to the back of the store and accosted several other employees, including the deliveryman who was robbed earlier, and asked at least one of the workers for the money in his pocket, Mazzone said. The two men escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
