  • The Garage

The friggin garage is driving me nuts. Have you ever seen Garage Takeover? I needed that. Instead, I did it all myself. Now, 13 cabinets later, I still have almost half of my 54 giant boxes of stuff in boxes, and I've filled the recycled and regular trashcan so full each of the last three weeks that one week, the whole can fell into the trash truck and they had to bring me a new one.

I have an awesome three car garage, but even if I do everything perfectly and devote another three weekends to it, I'll have one bay of the garage full of stuff.

    How's your garage lookin'?

Converted into a Playroom....looks great. Did have to buy a Storage Shed for the back yard, but it's worked out really well.

We actually park our car in our garage.

Other than that it's pretty organized ... well, not right now.

We have huge cabinets we keep most stuff in.

            Re: The Garage

We can still park the car in ours, but I throw stuff out almost every week. My father in law is SWIMMING in piles of garbage because he won't throw stuff out. If I haven't used something inside of a year, it's probably toast. I hate letting stuff pile up until I can't find anything.

I clean it, my mom clutters it with stuff...and that cycle keeps going on over and over again. I'm trying to convert it to my room, but it's not going so well.

We have a one car garage. It used to be for my mini-van until the Fall. We got rid of our storage unit and moved in jet skis, hubby's motorcycle and 3-wheeler into the garage. Now, I have to go out and defrost my car every morning. I miss the garage.

I have always loved working and being in the garage of whatever house I've lived in . My current house has a two car oversized garage. It used to have a laundry room in it, but last summer we tore down the laundry room to make the garage look more spacious. We gave it a fresh coat of white paint and did the doors and trim with red. My daughter Courtney made these three awesome art panels that are on one wall and we have movie posters of Gone with the Wind and Grease on two of the other walls. The washer and dryer and a few cabinets are in there, as is my hubby's tool bench and some cabinets with additional tools, my daughter Tiffany's drum set is in there , and all of our bikes are hanging neatly in one corner. We park my van and Ken's truck in there every day which is a lot nicer than parking outside every day. And when I'm home and don't feel like doing housework, I just go out to the garage, open up the door and sweep and tidy up so I'll feel like I've done something that day!

After yet another weekend, I have the double bay empty except for bicycles and my youngest's Barbie Electric Car. The third bay is just packed. I put the old dining room table in there with all the boxes and other junk and I'm selling it on eBay. with the money, I will buy a SeaDoo, which will look much better there.
