  • Luke's Lightsaber to be launched into space

    Today at the Oakland Airport, several actors dressed as characters from Star Wars presented members of NASA with a piece of movie history. Luke's original Lightsaber from Star Wars. To promote the 30th anniversary of the movie, Lucas is giving the prop to NASA so that it can be Launched into space when Discovery blasts off in October.         Some other news reports I've seen, think it starwars.com, they said it would be returning to Earth and doing some musem stints before returning to Lucasfilm. I was making the same face when I first read it was being jettisoned into space.
